All-State Band!

This weekend we had 8 students attend the second round for the GMEA All-State auditions.   There were roughly 2400 students competing for about 200 spots.  The students performed a technical etude and two sight-reading examples – due to the weather, their auditions were adjusted to save time.  Making the cut to attend the audition is an honor in and of itself and our students continue to rise to the occasion!  I am so proud of the students who served as wonderful ambassadors of our community, school, and band this weekend!

Joshua Hansen, trumpet, successfully earned a spot in the All-State Band and will participate in Athens, GA this March 5-7!  Congratulations!!!!

General Booster Meeting

We ask that all parents attend the upcoming General Band Booster meeting this Tuesday (January 14) at 6PM in the Band Room.  We will be planning for the future and sharing some important announcements.

Pastapalooza RESCHEDULED!

We were able to reschedule our Pasta-Palooza to January 28, 2020 at 6PM. Please sign up to bring either a pasta dish, drinks and/or a dessert (something that does not need to be cut, something like brownies, cupcakes, cookies, etc). If you bring a pasta dish we will have judges available and we will be presenting prizes for first, second and third place. While we are asking you to bring all of the food and drinks for this event, much like we did for the Chili Cook-off last year, we are asking for donations of $10 per person up to a maximum of $30 for your immediate family to support our band program.

Spirit Nights are Back!

Do you enjoy dining at Moe’s and/or American Pie Pizza, do you enjoy supporting our band, well then we have some great news. We have started Spirit Nights back at both places.

Moe’s has designated the first Tuesday of every month for us from 5PM – 8PM and will donate 10% of their sales to support our kids!  Please help us by attending!

American Pie has scheduled 4 Spirit Nights for this year, from 5PM – 9PM and will donate 15% of all noted sales to the boosters – you’ll have to let them know that you are there supporting our spirit night.  If you have your phone calendar synced to Charms then these are already in your calendar.  If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? You can still access all of that information by visiting the online calendar.  Our community is the best!
