It’s hard to believe that after a year of planning, working, and organizing that the inaugural running of the Legacy of Champions Marching Band Competition is just 7 days away! We are so excited and grateful for all of our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and participating bands. Your support has enabled us the opportunity to host the premiere event we had envisioned. We truly have a stellar day planned and hope to provide everyone involved with a great experience and a day of wonderful memories.

We are please to welcome a host of local and regional bands in competition, as well as the Carrollton Trojan Band, Valdosta State University, and the University of West Georgia in exhibition. A variety of vendors, concession stands full of fan favorites, and plenty of parking will help ensure an enjoyable day at Historic Grisham Stadium. The event will come to a crescendo that evening with an awards ceremony highlighted by the presentation of our massive, one-of-a-kind, traveling Grand Championship Trophy, the Legacy Sword Trophy, which was hand sculpted and cast in bronze by recent UWG graduate, Daniel McMillan. Gates open at 12:30 with performances beginning at 3:00pm and then event ending around 10:00pm. Admission is $8.00 per person, with children 10 and under free. We invite everyone to join us Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Historic Grisham Stadium from 3:00pm until 10:00pm to witness the beginning of the legacy!

For those who have volunteered or been contacted about helping during our event please visit this link: LoC Volunteer Schedule to find out your assignment(s) and shift time(s). Plan to report 30 minutes prior to your shift and park behind the high school in the lot located off of Frances Place. You will be provided a event staff shirt to wear for the day; students are to wear their show shirts. If you happen not to be on the list, please report that day during your availability and ask for Jeff Jones and he will provide you with an assignment.
