We had a great week last week! The Band BBQ was very successful on Thursday and we got to honor our seniors again as we count down to graduation. Thank you so much to the parents and students who worked at our BBQ. It was a long, but fulfilling day. Special thank you to Cheryl Moore for your leadership organizing the event. We were blessed with many community sponsors for our raffles too: Thank you to United Community Bank, The McCullough’s, Ashlie Blinn, Morgan Oil, Luke Young and our STEM Class, Eric Malmquist, The Cat Cafe, Chrissy Robinson and Edward Moore for donating raffle prizes! The raffle was drawn during our performances on Facebook Live and the videos are still posted if you’d like to review them. Thank you to everyone who supported our band program by purchasing BBQ, participating in the raffle, and attending the concert. Special shout out to Bill Green at Billy Bob’s BBQ for supplying the exceptional BBQ that we served. We received many compliments throughout the day. If you want to get more, please visit Billy Bob’s! They have supported us for many years and we are thankful for their partnership!

Friday night and Sunday afternoon some of our band students were featured in Legally Blonde! Our CHS Performing Arts did an outstanding job!

Stay up to date by syncing your calendar to the band’s calendar. In an effort to help our rising 9th graders learn the 4th of July Music and help them feel better about marching, we have added some Rookie Camp dates for them. We will meet on Mondays from 4:00pm – 6:00pm beginning on May 8. May 8, 15, 22. Thank you for attending if you are available. It will be a great way to get to meet some upperclassmen and get rid of any nervous jitters you may have about marching band. Be sure to wear athletic clothing with tennis shoes to the camps.
