4th of July Parade • 2022

  • Tomorrow • Practice: 9AM – 12PM
  • Monday • Report to Bank OZK at 9AM in uniform • Step-off 10AM • Finish around 10:30AM at Robinson Salvage

Practice • Saturday, July 2 • 9AM – 12PM at Carrollton High School

We will all meet inside the band room to start at 9:00AM.  Water will be provided at this rehearsal.  Students should dress appropriately to be outside marching.

We will split up the ensemble into as many sections as possible to work on memorization and foot coordination before we go to a full band rehearsal and begin moving it around the track.

Music: we hope that music was already distributed, but extra copies will be available at the rehearsal.

Colorguard

Colorguard uniforms will be the same as the bands – the provided white t-shirt, black shorts, and tennis shoes. We have enough poles and silks prepared for all participants (Thank you Coach Brown!!!).  A flag will be provided at rehearsal, stored in our trailer after the rehearsal, and provided again the day of the parade.  Please remind your colorguard students to return the flag at the end of the parade to the Carrollton High School band trailer.  Majorettes are also welcome.  They will wear the same uniform, but provide their own equipment, and routine.

Shirt Pick Up

Shirts will be passed out at the end of rehearsal. It is very important you pick up your shirt before leaving as this will be your uniform for the performance on Monday.

Performance • Monday, July 4 • Report at 9AM

Drop off: Students should be dropped off at BANK OZK on the corner of HWY27 and Maple Street.  Students need to bring all of their equipment and leave cases in the car so that the instrument can be packed back up at the end of the parade.  Large instruments will be transported to the parade on our trailer and should be loaded after the rehearsal. We ask students to please report to the band room after the parade to assist with unloading the equipment if their instrument is on the trailer.

Parade Staging: We will stage on N Cliff St (the access road between OZK and UCBI)

Parade Route: We will enter the parade at N Cliff St and Alabama Street, march through the center of downtown and continue on Bankhead Hwy until Robinson’s  Salvage (Old K-Mart).

Disband: We will provide a bottle of water for all participants at the Trojan Band trailer.  Students should be picked up at the Robinson’s Salvage parking lot.  We recommend parents watch the parade close to the end of the parade route and report to pick up their child when they see the band march past them.

*The parade steps off at 10:00AM, and we are number 18. We should be arriving at the end of the parade around 10:30AM.

Thank you to our T-Shirt Sponsor United Community Bank

Please help me in thanking United Community Bank. We are very fortunate for their generosity. They have sponsored the shirts for this parade for over a decade. If you have a chance to thank them, please do!

Inclement Weather:

In the event of inclement weather, Mr. Carr will communicate with each participating band director and post something on our CHSTrojanBand Facebook page.
