Jazz Evaluations and more auditions!

Last week was a great week of workshops to help students prepare for auditions. Also, we had wind auditions and the students continue to improve! We still have a few students who have not auditioned, but we will take care of those this week and get results posted ASAP. We had quite a few students make the 200 club and we look forward to celebrating with them. We have new plaque’s on the wall that have motivated the students to strive a bit harder. One plaque is a 200 club history that documents 200 members from each audition. The second plaque is a leaderboard that will keep up with the top 10 auditions of all time! I am interested to see if these need to be updated after the last audition? The 8th graders joined us for this audition. As intimidating as it might have been, they auditioned with courage and were very well prepared! Thank you for encouraging your child to do their best. We continue to hear and see growth from our students and are excited about the future!

Administrative Assistant’s Day

Let’s celebrate Ms. Dothard on Wednesday. She provides support for our band staff, but also is there for our students everyday. She is a graduate of Carrollton High School. Before beginning as our band secretary she retired from a full career at Southwire. She has two very successful son’s and is a pillar in our community. In addition to be a very important member of our team, she is also a member of the Trojan Athletic’s Hall of Fame! Ms. Dothard, we love you and are so thankful for the love and dedication that you pour into our band program every day. We look forward to celebrating with you this week!

BAND BBQ

This is the last week to sell BBQ tickets. All students received a packet before Spring Break. We ask all students to sell 20 single tickets and 10 raffle tickets. The success of this fundraiser helps us to keep our annual band fees affordable. Turn in is on Friday, April 21. Money collected and all unsold tickets should be turned in on Friday.

Raffle Items Needed • We draw the winners on Facebook Live and will recognize the sponsors. Gift cards to businesses make great items. If you have connections with local businesses, please ask if they have an item we can use in our raffle. The grand prize is $500, but having multiple chances to win can help sell the tickets and is a way to support our local businesses. Thank you for your help with this important fundraiser!

Senior Spotlight

We would like to recognize our seniors and their future plans! Parents/students, please fill out the form here ASAP to help us recognize our amazing seniors!
