Chick-fil-A Bowl Details

As you know, our band has been invited to participate in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Tickets:

The cost of our student tickets has been generously donated.  This is an event that most bands travel to Atlanta to participate in as their “band trip” for the year and pay for their individual tickets.  We are fortunate that we were invited to participate and our student tickets have been purchased for us.

All parent tickets including for chaperone and equipment crew cost $175.00 each and includes admission to the game, Fanfest, security clearance to enter with the band, and a credential.  We understand that this is an expensive game admission.  If you would like to chaperone but not attend Fanfest or the game – admission to the parade is free and you would be welcome to either hang out on the bus or could visit the CNN center for lunch/etc? While the students attend the game.

If you buy your tickets through us, the tickets will be blocked together with the student tickets.  We will all be sitting in the same general area.  Because the ticket requires entrance as a group, all tickets purchased by parents will be handed out after the parade on 1/1/2018.  You can purchase your tickets from now until November 17, 2017.  Tickets can be paid for by check (made out to the CHS Band Boosters), cash (in an envelope with name of student and name of parent), or online at https://chstrojanband.revtrak.net/trojan-band-trip/

But…. we must interrupt this holiday break for round three of the GHSA varsity football playoffs! Our Trojans have risen to the first two challenges of the playoff season and now face a strong foe in the Buford Wolves in round three. The Trojan Nation will have to travel to Buford, Georgia this Friday, November 25th, on what many call Black Friday, but maybe we should rename it “Black and Gold Friday” as we cheer on our Mighty Trojans in their quest for a state championship

Over The River, and Through The Woods, to Thomasville We Go…

playoff2With a huge win over Lithonia this past Friday, the Trojans advance to round two of the GHSA football playoffs. Our next game is way against Thomas County Central in Thomasville, GA. This will be quite a trek for the Trojans Nation, but transportation plans for the band have already been ironed out. Principal Brooks has already made arrangements for our school buses and drivers to transport the band, the cheerleaders and the football team to the game on Friday. We are all excited and hoping for a Trojan victory for sure, but most importantly, we are asking that the community keep everyone traveling down to Thomasville in your thoughts and prayers for safe travels both ways.

We also have our All-In-One pick-up days coming up at the end of the week as well. So don’t forget volunteer and/or stop by the Tabernacle Baptist Church parking lot either this Friday from 8:00am until 6:00pm or Saturday from 8:00am until 12:00pm to pick up your orders. Anything not picked-up by noon on Saturday will be donated to local food banks.
