Details From The Disney Trip Parent/Student Meeting

walt-disney-world-logoIf you were unable to attend the Disney Trip Parent/Student Meeting tonight, 12/2/14, or if you just need a reminder, here are the details and action items.

  • Disney Forms Released:
  • Student Cell Phone Numbers Needed: As part of the logistics for the trip, we will need all students attending the trip to provide their cell phone numbers to Mrs. Dothard. We collected many tonight, but if you or your student did not provide their numbers tonight, please do so ASAP.
  • Disney Trip Shirts: We announced at the meeting that everyone going on the trip as a student, staff or chaperone will be given a FREE gold, Disney Trip shirt to wear while we are at the Magic Kingdom, compliments of Grillo & Associates. Thank you so much to our corporate sponsor! We are also taking orders for those wishing to purchase an additional shirt(s) or for anyone else who wants one. Orders will be taken through Monday, January 5, 2015. To place an order, please download an order form from this link: Additioanl Disney Shirt Order Form Pricing and examples of the shirts available can be found on the order from. Orders forms and payments should be dropped off at the band room in a sealed, clearly marked envelope and deposited in the Band Booster box located on the wall behind Ms. Dothard’s desk. Make sure to include your completed order form and payment. Please make checks payable to Trojan Band Boosters. The other items that was handled at the meeting was voting on the proposed amendments to the Band Boosters bylaws. The amendments were read, discussed and adopted. The updated bylaws will be posted on the Band Booster page of the website by the end of this week. For more details about the amendments adopted tonight, you can review the original post from 11/21/2014 where they were released for review.

Quick Reminders

As you continue to enjoy your holiday weekend, we wanted to give you some quick reminders for the coming week.

  • Full Band Parade Practice: Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm in the CHS band room.
  • Band Booster Meeting – Mandatory for Disney Parents/Students: Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm CHS Band Room. This meeting will serve two purposes, to hold a vote on proposed amendments to the Band Booster Bylaws, details can be found here, and to release/go over important details about our fast-approaching Disney Trip.
  • Moe’s Band Spirit Night – This month’s CHS Band Spirit Night is Tuesday (12/2/14), from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Make plans to join us at Moe’s Southwestern Grill, located at 1765 South Hwy. U.S. 27, Carrollton, GA. Proceeds from our spirit nights help the Band Boosters continue their support of our band students and band program.
  • Spirit Items Orders: This round of orders for Trojan Band spirit items will close on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. This will probably be our last order, except for Disney shirts, until next summer, so make sure to get your order in before the deadline. For more details about what is available and how to order, please see here.
  • Holiday Wishes Christmas Parade: Thursday, December 4, 2014 – Itinerary and details still to come…. watch our social feeds for updates.

What A Mess!?

Greetings all,

??????????????????????Things can definitely get messy if you are not staying informed and reading our posts and emails each week, so please take a moment, as we begin a new week, and read about these important items.

  • Trick or Treat Village – Our Trick or Treat Village was a huge success, so thank you to everyone who participated in any way. There were tons of photos taken that evening in case you missed it or even if you were there and want to relive the fun. Your time and talent is very appreciated.
  • Disney Trip – All Disney trip balances are due TODAY! After today, November 3rd, those with remaining balances will forfeit their reservation and all previous payments. There will be no refunds offered after today, November 3rd. Until midnight tonight, November 3rd, you are eligible for a refund of all payments, less the $100 deposit and any online payment fees. These policies have been in place since the trip was announced and are necessary to meet our obligations and secure the proper number of rooms and transportation. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. The Booster Officers will be at the Band Room on this evening, Monday, November 3rd, from 5pm – 7pm to accept payments and answer any questions about the trip. You may also make your final payments online through midnight tonight, Monday, November 3rd (additional fees apply).   • Moe’s Band Spirit Night – This month’s CHS Band Spirit Night is tomorrow, Tuesday (11/4/14), from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. So please make plans to join us for CHS Band Spirit Night at Moe’s Southwestern Grill, located at 1765 South Hwy. U.S. 27, Carrollton, GA. Proceeds from our spirit nights help the Band Boosters continue their support of our band students and band program. These spirit nights have been growing each month and are providing  great benefit to our program, so please make plans to join us at Moe’s!
  • Spirit Items – For those that ordered spirit items, they are starting to arrive! We were able to hand out some items Friday night to those that were at the Trick or Treat Village. We will also have some items with us tonight (11/3/14) at the Disney Trip Payment turn-in night in the Band Room from 5-7pm if you would like to stop by and pick up what is available. Your next opportunity to pick up ordered spirit items will be this Thursday right after practice.   • Itinerary and Volunteer Sign-Ups  – As we prepare for what could be our final game of the season, especially at Grisham Stadium, please take a minute to review this week’s itinerary and volunteer opportunities.

        • 10:30pm* – Student pick-up at CHS Band Room

Please note, volunteer sign-ups allows us to comply with the school’s request to better manage volunteer gate entry. You must sign-up each week to help with game related activities in order to receive volunteer gate entry. For home games we will be issuing volunteer wristbands to those that sign-up, otherwise, you will be asked to purchase a ticket by the gate attendant to enter the game.Volunteers who sign up to help during half time will need to dress in all black please.

Super Duper Important Announcement Regarding the Disney Trip

clipcogsworthTime is running out for your final payment towards the Disney trip. All trip balances must be paid in full by next Monday, November 3rd, 2014 to be able to participate in the trip. After November 3rd, those with remaining balances will forfeit their reservation and all previous payments. There will be no refunds offered after November 3rd. Big Week For The Band

abigWeekAfter a nice Fall Break and the arrival of some energizing fall-like temperatures we should all be prepared for the big week we have ahead of us. Make sure you take just a minute to read and note the important events happening this week so you can be prepared.

  • Disney Trip Payment Due This Monday, October 6th, 2014 is another scheduled Disney Trip Payment due date. Please be advised that this it the LAST scheduled payment date before your total balances are due on November 3, 2014. So it is vitally important that you make a payment towards your balance, especially if you have gotten a little behind. We need a strong push in payments this Monday so that we we have the necessary funds to make the next installment to the travel agency. The Band Booster officers will be in the band room on Monday, October 6th, 2014 from 5:30pm until 7:00pm to accept your payments. Payments can be made with cash or check or online. If you would like to know your trip balance you can log into Charms from the main navigation bar of our website or email Rachel at Rachel_tate@bellsouth.net and she will provide you with a current balance according to the latest information she has.
  • Moe’s Band Spirit Night – This month’s CHS Band Spirit Night is Tuesday (10/7/14), from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. So please make plans to join us for CHS Band Spirit Night at Moe’s Southwestern Grill, located at 1765 South Hwy. U.S. 27, Carrollton, GA. Proceeds from our spirit nights help the Band Boosters continue their support of our band students and band program. Also be sure to tell your family, friends, and co-workers to have supper at Moe’s too so they can help support our spirit night while enjoying a great meal!
  • Away Game This Friday – The Trojans will be taking on Fayette County this Friday at Fayette County. Itinerary and volunteer sign-up sheet will hopefully be released sometime Monday. Watch our media outlets for more details.
  • First Band Competition This Saturday – The band will be competing in its first competition of the 2014 season this Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Rockmart, Georgia so make plans to attend and support this great program as they take the field in battle for the first time under Mr. Carr. Itinerary and volunteer sign-up sheet will be released as soon as possible. Watch our media outlets for more details.
  • Keep working on those All-In-One Sales!!!!

Finally, I’d like to ask your thoughts and prayers be with the Band Booster Presidents, Joe and Allison Driver, as Joe undergoes surgery on Wednesday morning. We look forward to a full and speedy recovery and having them back in our ranks as soon as they are able.
