Happy Winter Break

We hope that all of our families have a wonderful time together enjoying their time off from school. School will resume on Monday, February 28. Happy Winter Break!

Winter Guard Performed at River Ridge High School

Both Winter Guards improved their scores this weekend and performed more of their show than they did last time! After their performances the students, coaches, and chaperones went to Stevie B’s for lunch and celebrated at Stars and Strikes! I am so proud of our students continued improvement. They compete again on March 5 at Kell High School.

Disney – Stay Updated

All student travelers should be in our Disney Band Google Classroom. Many announcements and documents are being shared there.

All travelers – students, staff, and chaperones should be in our Disney Remind. Parents of travelers will receive updates via our normal remind channels as well as periodic updates on Instagram and Facebook. If you are traveling and are not in the remind yet, please join using this code: Text @7cdgak to 81010.

If you missed the virtual chaperone and final student meeting on February 17 at 6:00pm the slideshow and video have been added to the Disney Google Classroom. Please make sure that you watch it.

Important: ANDRETTI Waivers have to be printed off. Although we completed them digitally originally, Andretti’s requires a physical copy. It is important that if you have not turned this in yet that you bring a signed copy with you on Wednesday morning. A parent’s signature is required to allow you to drive the go-karts. If you forget it, then you will not be allowed to drive the go-karts, but you will still have access to the video games and other fun activities at Andretti’s.

When packing please consider that you will need clothes for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Additionally, we will wear our marching band uniform for the parade. We will wear Mickey Ears provided by WDW instead of our shakos. The colorguard will wear our pre-game white dresses for the parade. All uniforms need to be stored in a garment bag for travel. Ms. Dothard has extra garment bags for sale for $5.00 if you have misplaced yours or just need/want a new one.

More information concerning a more detailed packing list, and a detailed itinerary will be shared on Google Classroom.

Annual Trojan Band March 5K and Fun Run • PLEASE SHARE

We will be hosting our Annual 5K and Fun Run on March 19. We want to continue creating a distinguished experience for our participants and guests so for this to be an ongoing tradition, we need your help, both students and parents. Students can access the student volunteer form here. Parents, we request your assistance as well, helping mostly with money, but we do need you there as a support system for our student workers. Thank you for helping our event run smoothly. Please use this sign up sheet.

What’s an event without entertainment? There will be games and other fun activities during the event so bring the whole family! Looking forward to seeing each of you there!

Please continue sharing the flyer on all of your social media pages. People can sign-up by scanning the QR code, visiting our website for more information, or accessing the sign-up page directly at:

Senior Spotlight – Need your help

We would like to continue our Senior Spotlights tradition that was started last year. Seniors or senior parents, click here to fill out this form to allow us to customize your senior spotlight. Filling out the form allows us to celebrate our senior’s future plans and share photos of them from throughout their school careers.

Graduation

Just a reminder that Graduation this year is on May 20, 2022 although our last day of school is not until May 25. This is an important evening for all of our band students because not only do we get to celebrate with our graduating seniors, but we perform as part of the ceremony. This is a required performance for all wind and percussion students. An itinerary will be posted as we get closer to graduation, but I wanted to make sure that you understood that this is an evening commitment for our band students.
