Georgia State University Concerto Competition

Today we were visited by the Associate Director of the School of Music and the Director of Bands at Georiga State University, Dr. Robert Ambrose.  Dr. Ambrose taught us a lot about rhythmic sensitivity and the importance of listening responsibilities.  He encouraged and inspired all of us to dig deeper in our music making and was very complimentary of our students hard work!

Below is a link to a Concert Competition hosted by GSU.  This would be a great opportunity for our students to work with one of the best college ensembles in the nation and a chance to earn some money, too.

Please visit their website http://www.music.gsu.edu/hsconcertocompetition.aspx for rules, regulations, repertoire list, and more.  This is becoming an annual event, so if you’re not ready this year then start preparing for next year.  Just setting the goal and getting started on learning this level of literature will prepare you for college auditions and will be a fulfilling endeavor.  What are you waiting for?!
