We are so thankful that Friday’s weather cooperated to allow us to celebrate our seniors! Although it sprinkled a little at the beginning, it cleared up by the end of it and the temperature was perfect! Outstanding job to our band students who remained professional during the misting and performed beautifully for the ceremony. Mr. Nelson did an outstanding job leading the band on the field while Dr. Carr ran sound for the event.
Seniors,
This class lead us through the recovery of our band program through the after affects of COVID and have been tremendous leaders. This class set the bar academically, set the bar with the 200 (300) club, set the bar with All-State, led in Solo & Ensemble, Kiwanis, and both District and State Jazz Band. I will never forget our first year together and will always cherish our past three. Our band program has grown so much because of your dedication and leadership. Use this experience as a memory to help you through those times that it is difficult to see the end result. I am sure that most of you thought that this day would never come, well… YOU DID IT! And, I bet most would now say that it arrived faster than you thought it would. Well, as they say time flies when you’re having fun! I sure had fun these last few years and I hope that you did too!
Mother Theresa offered some outstanding advice, that I hope you will take to heart:
- People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
- If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
- If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
- If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
- What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
- If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
- The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
- Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
Never forget: you are the best version of yourself! And your BEST is always good enough. Love you guys! Congratulations! You’ve GRADUATED! Now, keep HUSTLEing!
-Dr. Carr
