8th Annual LoC, Another Success!

I hope that everyone enjoys our well deserved and much needed break this week! Cheers to a busy, but very productive and meaningful week!

We competed a week ago on Saturday, which started a whirlwind of events for our students, parents, and staff. On Tuesday, we performed in the County Exhibition. We couldn’t have done it without the tremendous support of our parents who fed the kids again, made sure the uniforms were ready, and a logistics crew who made sure we got there and back!

On Friday night we hosted our 8th graders at the home game versus East Coweta. The 8th graders added energy and excitement to our home game. I have received many compliments about how we sounded in the stands- the drumline and sousaphone sections were HUGE! – and numerous people reported to have heard us across town. One person commented that they could hear us clearly at Kroger! It was an extended ball game due to extra media timeouts created by the Peachtree TV broadcast. We are thankful for the halftime and LoC shoutout on air! Again, I received numerous compliments and congratulations from people who were able to see the band live on TV. Bravo to our students for performing with professionalism and high energy even after an already long week.

Then on Saturday, we hosted 12 other schools for the 8th Edition of the Legacy of Champions! This is an event that has been methodically planned by our talented and generous LoCCoordinators. Special thank you to Maria Menendez, Sarah Bush, Molly Camp, Yvonne Haley, Candie Hicks, Dawn Jack, Dusty Honeycutt, Andrea Maxwell, Jennifer Hand, Michelle Pethel, Amanda Akin, Terri Spears, Cheryl Moore, Jovita Johnson, Danielle Miley, David Trumble, Robert Moore, Lindy Moore, and Zachary Nelson for the numerous hours that you spent throughout the year helping us to prepare. And then, with the help of outstanding selfless parent and student volunteers we were successful in hosting the most hospitable band competition. Thank you so much for everyone who spent their day with us on Saturday. I have received many compliments about the service which you provided. I am grateful for your willingness to serve others. The LoC is one of my favorite days of the year because I get to participate alongside all of our band families in the service of the band community. We have made a reputation of providing visitors with exceptional service, we run on time and go the extra mile! I am extremely proud of our band! Thank you for making it happen!

Then our students after volunteering all day gave a performance that would’ve rivaled their performance at the Superbowl of Sound. Even after an exhausting week, they found another level and ENTERTAINED the visiting bands. Thank you band for showing HuSTL this week. It was a week that you have decided to remain still and not continue forging ahead, but you remained focused, disciplined, and gave your trust to the hard work ahead. You are better for it! Congratulations on a well deserved break!! We will only meet on Friday this week so that we can prepare for the Pebblebrook game.

Thank you, Cheryl Moore and Mark Drury for the photos

If anyone has any pictures from LoC, I would love to share them too! LoC pics to be shared soon! We have a few more weeks left of the competitive season as we continue to clean and perfect our show for our final contest at Peach State in Rome on October 22.

Help Us Honor Our Veterans

We would like to honor family members and friends of the Carrollton Trojan Band with the creation of a slide show to be presented at our Veteran’s Day Concert on November 14, 2022. The concert is FREE and open to the public. We would be honored by your presence if you are able to attend. Please help us to spread the word!

Amazon • 2 Ways to Help • Snacks Needed

THANK YOU so much to our parents and friends who have ordered items from our Amazon Wishlist! The snacks for the away games, Gadsden and South Paulding were all provided from generous donations from our Amazon Wishlist. If you are able and willing to assist by purchasing items from the wishlist it helps both monetarily and assist us with our time since it removes the need for someone to go out and purchase the items. If you see items on our list that you can find less expensive elsewhere and would rather shop for them, we have a booster storage room where we can store donated snacks. Your generosity makes a difference and we are very appreciative. THANK YOU!!!!

Health Class

The health class work was due by October 1. Mr. Carr is working on updating grades and should have them updated by the end of next week. If you have any incomplete work, this is the last week to get it finished. Parents, please double check that your child completes all of their health class requirements by the end of this week or they may have to retake the class next Summer or take the class in person.
