Our hearts are heavy

It is with a very saddened heart that I share this solemn news about one of the members of our band family.  Please keep Mackenzee Pair, one of our recent graduates, and her family in your thoughts and prayers regarding the passing of her father, Mr. Rex Pair.

Below was taken from newsletters posted by Midway Church about Rex Pair and has information on how you can celebrate his life.

From Todd Wright’s Blog speaking of Mr. Pair: “I hired Rex Pair as my Executive Pastor in July 2004. All of the changes in ministry that God was taking me through from 2003 were killing me! Ministry had become too complex and confusing in the midst of criticism, complaints, and managing people. I was struggling whether to leave Midway Church and go to a smaller, simple church, or find someone who could help carry the administrative and personnel load at Midway. Rex Pair brought sanity, structure, and strategy back into my life and ministry, which allowed me to stay at Midway Church. Rex became everything I needed and he has made it possible for me to be the leader I am today as Midway continues to flourish.

He taught me how to delegate and release responsibility to others.

He enabled me to focus on my strengths.

He brought strategic thinking to our team.

I’m thankful!”

And from Midway’s Newsletter with information on how to celebrate Rex’s life. “Please be in prayer for the family of Rex Pair, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 5. Rex served as Midway Church’s Executive Pastor from 2004 – 2016.  A celebration of Rex’s life will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at The Wright Farm.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the children’s college savings fund.  Donation checks can be made payable to “American Funds” and can be delivered to Midway Church or mailed to:

Norton Financial, Inc.
402 Bankhead Hwy.
Villa Rica, GA 30180

Please continue to pray for Rex’s wife, Leslie and their two daughters, Katie and Mackenzee.   Thank you for your love and support. “

Even though today is a sad day, we find joy in knowing that Rex is no longer in pain and is now cancer free!  He is now in paradise and will be there until his family will be reunited.  Mackenzee, if you are reading this, we love you and your family.  May God provide you peace and comfort through loved ones.  If you need anything, please let us know.
