Super proud of our Trojans! We had 10 students eligible for the final round of the Georgia Music Educator’s Association’s All-State Band auditions yesterday. These students had to pass a minimum score requirement at the first round auditions in December. The following students should be congratulated and commended for this honor to represent our school at the second round!
Luke Bass, Taylor Berry, Emma Eddleman, Matthew Harris, Maggi Hines, Daniel Kuntz, Kelly Ozier, Kendall Ozier, Ryan Schumann, and Christian Williamson.
Our students traveled to Houston County High School and competed against thousands of other students from across the state by performing their 2 prepared etudes, and 2 sight-reading etudes that they had a mere 30 seconds to prepare before performing for adjudication. This is a highly competitive process and I am extremely proud of all of our students who made the commitment to audition. These students along with the students who auditioned for District Honor Band are leading our band to new heights and I appreciate their courage to audition.
I am proud to report that 5 of our students scored high enough and are invited to participate!
These students will travel to Athens on March 3 and prepare music with the All-State Band for a culmination concert on March 5 in the Classic Center, which is a beautiful 2090 seat concert hall located in downtown Athens.
Please help me to congratulate the following students for making All-State!
