Legacy of Champions Saturday

Tomorrow we start back from Fall Break, and we hope that everyone had an opportunity to unplug and recharge while spending quality time with family. Friday night, our football team had another outstanding win, and our band performed enthusiastically all night long. It was a great evening cheering on our Trojans. We defeated Northgate to reach 8-0 for the season, and we travel to Westlake on Friday for our third region game. Go Trojans!

This Saturday is one of our biggest days of the year, the Legacy of Champions Marching Competition (LoC). The LoC is our annual home competition and it requires all of us to work together to successfully host this many bands. If you have not volunteered yet, please do so tonight. VOLUNTEER HERE

We are still looking for equipment to help haul band gear, specifically front ensemble equipment. We need trailers like the one seen below and vehicles that can pull it (ATVs, side-by-sides, etc.). Trailers need to have a ramp for rolling equipment on and to have some form of railing/wall so equipment cannot roll off easily. The vehicle could be anything with a trailer hitch that is powerful enough to pull a similar-sized trailer.

If you have one or both and would like to let us borrow it, we would LOVE to talk with you. If you would rather not let someone else drive your equipment, we would LOVE for you to join our team and help us make band students smile!

We could also use golf carts, tents, desserts, and volunteers in having the best weekend of the year. If you are interested, you can sign up at the following link, or reach out to ask questions! VOLUNTEER HERE

Band Students Participated at UWG’s Football Game

On Saturday, two students from our baritone section, Logan Kennedy and Duncan Purkey, attended the UWG home football game and participated in the stands with the UWG Marching Wolves! Logan and Duncan, thank you for seeking extra growth opportunities. This is how you lead the way! We look forward to you sharing your experiences with your section members. Go Trojans!

ATVs Needed for LoC

October is here, and that means Legacy of Champions (CHS Trojan Band‘s competition) is just around the corner. The event will be Saturday, October 24th. We will need all parents’ help that day in addition to our students working and performing as exhibition that evening. We are hosting 21 competing bands in addition to 3 college bands! It’s going to be a great day, but we need your help to provide the best hospitality to these visiting ensembles.

We are looking for equipment to help haul band gear, specifically front ensemble pieces. We need trailers like the one seen here and vehicles that can pull it (ATVs, side by sides, etc.). Trailers need to have a ramp for rolling equipment on. It also needs to have some form of railing/wall so equipment cannot roll off errantly. The vehicle could be anything with a trailer hitch that is powerful enough to pull a similar trailer.

If you have one or both and would like to let us borrow it, we would LOVE to talk with you. If you would rather not let someone else drive your equipment, we would LOVE for you to join our team and help us make band students smile!

We could also use golf carts, tents, and other volunteers in having the best weekend of the year! If you can help us out, please let me know. You can DM me here or email me at amanda.ledbetter@carrolltoncityschools.net. (If you can’t help, would you please share this with your friends?)

Our water bottle supply is running low. We ask families to donate 2 cases of water or $11 to help cover the cost of water for the season. We typically ask for these donations during band camp, but we received a generous donation at the beginning of the season that has covered most of the season. If you’d prefer to donate $11 instead of bringing in 2 cases of water, you can do so at this link: Water Donation Link

Help Us Find Community Sponsors

Our band families are some of our best ambassadors in the community! If you know a business, organization, or individual who may be interested in supporting the Carrollton Trojan Band, please consider sharing our Band Sponsorship Flyer. Students will receive 10% of the sponsorship to assist with their band fees. We have physical copies in the band room if you’d like a few to share with potential partners. Sponsorships provide meaningful opportunities and experiences for our students while allowing our community partners to support and be connected with the Trojan Band.
