2026 Kiwanis Showcase

We had a spectacular presence during the Kiwanis Showcase talent competition tonight at the Carrollton Center for the Arts. Haley Rowell performed a clarinet solo by Cyrille Rose, Lucas Priest performed the Carnival of Venice on Euphonium with Dr. Wayne Gilreath accompanying, Sebastian Noel Valle performed Liebersträm on piano, Gray Esslinger performed Rain Dance on marimba, Marie Fujita-Block performed The Sorceres Apprentice on basson with Dr. Wayne Gilreath accompanying on piano, Syilva Crisostomo, Makaila York, Carry Chen, and Viviana Deatherage perfomed The Moldau as a flute quartet, and Tyler Clotfelter, Greyson Jones, Camren Harley, and Yael Ramirez performed Little Fugue in G Minor as a saxophone quartet. Our chorus also had Landen Jordan, Caden Clifton, Able Akin, and Daymian Ruiz-Schelp performing a barbershop quartet, and Addington Adair, Abigail McCoy, and Molly Wallis performed a trio. All represented our school system with extraordinary talent.

Congratulations to the following Honorable Mentions: Flute Quartet: Sylvia Morales, Carry Chen, Makaila York, Viviana Deatherage; Sebastian Valle on piano, Lucas Priest on euphonium; Trojan Trebles Trio- Addington Adair, Abigail McCoy, and Molly Wallis; Marie Fujita-Block on bassoon; and Haley Rowell on clarinet. Also to the following performers who placed: 5th Place Gray Esslinger on marimba; 4th Place Scout Jones from Central; 3rd Place the Olympus Saxophone Quartet – Tyler Clotfelter, soprano sax, Greyson Jones, alto sax, Camren Harley, tenor sax, and Yael Ramirez, bari sax; 2nd Place Edwin Wright from Bremen, and the Trojan Sound Quartet in 1st place: Caden Clifton, Abel Akin, Damien Ruiz-Schelp, and Landen Jordan. All of our students represented us extremely well! Congraulations to all!

District Honor Band Recap

Congratulations to our students who spent the weekend in Ringgold at the 2026 District Honor Band. They performed outstanding concerts on Saturday

Winter Guard Performance At VRHS

Our Winter Guard performs on Saturday, February 14, at 4:57PM at Villa Rica High School. This is a GREAT opportunity for you to come out and support our team. Please spread the word! Our team is working hard to prepare their show and would love to share it with you. They always perform better when we fill the audience for them.

Soda Donations Requested

As we prepare for our annual Band BBQ, we are asking our band families and community supporters to consider donating sodas to help make this event as impactful as possible for our students. We use 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper.

These beverages frequently go on sale throughout the year. By working together and purchasing during promotional pricing, we can stretch our dollars further and reduce event expenses. Every cost we lower means more proceeds go directly to supporting our students through instrument purchases, travel opportunities, scholarships, and program needs. The event is on April 30, 2026, so there is no immediate need, but we wanted to get the word out early so we can begin keeping an eye out for sales.

Thank you for always finding ways to support the Trojan Band. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

Uniform Room Organization Volunteers

Mrs. Bush will be at the school on February 24 to assist with organizing the uniform room. We could use some volunteers to assist her that day. If you are available, we would love your help as well. Volunteer here. 9:30AM – 12:00PM or 1:00PM – 3:00PM. Thank you so much for your help!

Berry College Invitational

On March 4, 2026, our Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will travel to Berry College to participate in the inaugural Berry College Wind Studies Invitational. The students will perform their LGPE selections for a world-class panel of educators, be coached by one of the clinicians, and receive feedback from the panel. Students will also watch Heritage HS perform their LGPE selections and attend masterclasses. It is an honor to have been invited, and we look forward to representing our school and community with excellence!
