Band Camp Started Strong!

Last week, the Trojan Band had a great start to the season! We met each day from 8:00AM – 5:00PM, where we were supported by a strong team of parent volunteers and Carrollton City Schools Nutrition Staff who kept us hydrated, nourished, provided first aid, finished sizing uniforms, took our team photos, and got us ready to begin learning drill!

This week, we are back at it with an 8:00AM – 9:00PM camp where we will be joined by instrument-specific specialists who will provide an ever bigger jumpstart to our season. Our week concludes with our first public performance and we want EVERYONE to be there! Please spread the word. Did you forget to RSVP? You can do that right now! This RSVP helps us to provide enough food for everyone.

Photos from Week 1 • If you took more photos that you’d like to share, please add them using this form. Thank you so much for helping us capture these precious memories and for sharing them with one another!

Attention Class of 2026 • TODAY – Sunday, July 20

Photos for the football program are for you and your immediate family on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 9:00AM – 6:00PM in the SAC Gym. Mr. Carmichael updated the time. Photos are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. You should wear your uniform and your parents should wear school colors or Trojan gear. We want all of our Seniors to participate in this. If you are unable to make it today, please email Dr. Carr at christopher.carr@carrolltoncityschools.net if you haven’t already.

Remind – Not functioning as it used to

We use Remind to help keep everyone updated, but we learned that it no longer sends a text message. You can still receive messages, but you have to use the app. Be sure that you have notification enabled on your Remind App in order to receive alerts from us. We will also be trying CutTime to see if that is a better alternative. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this change.

Volunteers Needed for Band Camp

Thank you so much for helping us with camp! We need help with meals. We could use your help serving the meals and we have a few items that we could use donated if you’re willing to do that. Please follow the links for more information: Donations Needed • Volunteer Here.

July 21 -25 • 8:00AM – 9:00PM • Week 2

Both weeks of camp are mandatory and important, but this is an extra special week because we will be joined by specialists to assist with instrument-specific sectionals to assist our students in learning and memorizing our music a little faster this week, as we finalize preparations for our first performance, Trojan Family Night on July 25. Please RSVP Here.

Typical Schedule
8:00AM – 11:30AM Fundamentals and Drill in the SAC
11:30AM – 12:30PM Lunch in the Cafeteria
12:30 – 1:00PM Section Skit Time
1:00PM – 3:30PM Sectionals
3:30PM – 4:30PM Full Band in the MAC
4:30PM – 5:30PM Dinner in the Cafeteria
5:30PM – 6:00PM Section Time Prepare the Stadium
6:00PM – 9:00PM Full Band in the Stadium

The section leaders have designated the following spirit days for band camp. We encourage our students to participate in the spirit days to increase relationship building and create memories together during this important week of our season.

Meals

Breakfast and lunch will be available this week through the school, free of charge. Students may choose to eat breakfast at home or bring their own lunch if they decide not to eat the school meals. Students are not permitted to leave campus until after camp each day. Accommodations will be made for students with allergies.  Please be sure that the band staff is aware of dietary restrictions.  All menus are subject to change based on product availability. Thank you so much to our school system’s nutrition department and our booster club for organizing these meals for our students!

This Friday! Trojan Night • Preview Performance!

We will have our first public performance at Trojan Night on July 25, 2025. This is a free event and open to the public. The booster club is preparing dinner for all who would like to attend. Please RSVP by July 18 so that we know how much food to prepare.

Summer Health Class – Should be finished by now

All coursework is due by the end of this week! We tried to urge students to finish it by the end of last week, because we knew that this week would be really difficult to find time to work on Edgenuity or eADAP because we have camp from 8:00AM – 9:00PM. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the Edgenuity controls. But, as long as you can still log in, you can finish your work in Edgenuity for full credit! Since the deadline is quickly approaching, you are on borrowed time and could lose access any day. Fingers crossed you’ll still have access the 2 weeks before school starts? If so, get your work DONE! Juggling a 5th class can be difficult, especially with our after-school schedule. Finish a module right now.

We are traveling to Universal Studios! Sign Up Today

On Friday, June 13, we had a virtual meeting to announce this year’s trip. If you missed it, here how you can get the inforamtion and sign up for the trip! The first deposit was due on June 20, but you can still sign up. Right now we still have room. We would love for all students in the Trojan Marching Band to travel with us to Universal Studios this March! We will travel from March 20 – 24, 2026, and participate in a sound stage experience where the students will record the background music, dialogue, and sound FX for a scene from Despicable Me! This will be an exciting experience in addition to the opportunities to observe the performance industry while visiting Universal Studios Orlando, Islands of Adventure, and the newest park EPIC Universe! We will spend 2 days at EPIC, and have 2 days at Universal/Islands of Adventure with park-to-park privileges, so the students will have the opportunity to ride many roller coasters throughout the trip!

For more information and to sign-up for the trip please visit https://chstrojanband.com/26-bandtrip/ • Sign up using the links to the Super Holiday Tours website.

Sponsorship Drive • We need your help

We need your help securing sponsors for our Trojan Band. Students will earn 10% of any sponsorship that they secure to use towards band fees or the Universal Trip. Sponsors have helped provide meals for away games and competitions, they help us maintain our fleet of vehicles so that we can transport equipment to football games and competitions, they help us purchase materials for props for half-time productions, and their generosity in addition to our fundraising efforts helps us keep our band fees affordable for our families.

Sponsors can receive advertising at our Legacy of Champions Competition and other thank you gifts from our Booster Club for their support. For more information, please contact Heather Warren. We must be strategic and not all contact the same businesses. Please reach out to Ms. Warren before reaching out to businesses independently so that we do not bombard our generous community of supporters. If you have a personal connection with any specific businesses, please let Ms. Warren know so that we can work together for our students.
