One Week Before Spring Break

This was a fantastic week for our band program! LGPE was extremely successful with all 3 bands giving emotional performances. Concert Band earned straight excellent’s on stage and a superior in sight-reading. Symphonic Band earned one superior and two excellents on stage and a superior in sight-reading. Wind Ensemble earned straight superiors as well as only A and A+’s in all captions. The adjudicators and hosts were very complimentary of the preparedness of our students and their professionalism on and off the stage. Then on Friday, we had a full crowd at our Friends and Family show for our Winter Guard on Friday night. We hosted Villa Rica, Central-Carroll, and Noir Independent and received many compliments on our organization and hospitality. Thank you so much to the parents who volunteered to make this evening successful! We look forward to this being an annual event. Thank you so much for your continued support of these amazing young people!

2024 Spring Audition Etudes

The audition will include our traditional format: 2 Min Scale Test, Chromatic Scale, Etude, and Sight-reading. For more information about how the audition is scored please visit: https://chstrojanband.com/bandauditions/

This is also your opportunity to try out for the 200 Club. Students who score at least 200 points earn their name on a plaque in the band room. They also receive a 200 Club pin. Additionally we have a leaderboard with the top 12 auditioners of all time. Currently Nathan Stagliano is our record holder with 300 points.

Band BBQ

The BBQ Sale is in full swing. Students received packets a couple of weeks ago. If you need more, call the Band office, and more will be made available to you!  We also ask that you fill out the included log sheet accurately so that we can properly plan for the right number of supplies – this is a very important help to us!  Remember, if you are selling to a local business or group of 10 or more, the boosters will provide delivery!  It’s a great selling point!  Please obtain contact information to provide to the boosters and list it with any promised delivery groups at turn in.

Incentives

In addition to helping your band meet its goals and allow us to continue providing for our students, we have items that students can win by selling their BBQ. For EVERY ticket sold (single, double, or raffle ticket) and money turned in on time by April 19, the selling student will receive a ticket in the student raffle for a chance to win cool prizes. Thank you Mr. Moore for your donation of these items and many more for the BBQ Raffle!

PACKET TURN IN NIGHT

Money for all BBQ packets are due on Friday, April 19. The boosters will be available in the band lobby from 3:00 pm until 5:00pm (immediately after school).  All money, checks, and any unsold tickets should be returned at that time. Please keep up with your tickets as you will be responsible for the price of any unsold tickets that are not returned.

Charms Changes Ahead – Soon to be CutTime

We received news that our database that we use to keep information for the booster club has been purchased by another company. We are in the process of migrating the information and wanted to give you a heads up before the changes take place. The new software is called CutTime and it will offer similar features that we had access to in Charms.
