After a very busy but successful weekend we head into the week of Large Group Performance Evaluations. We are so very thankful to the volunteers who made our annual Trojan Band 5K another success! Mr. Nelson led a team of parent and student volunteers to provide another great event for our community! Save the date for next year’s 5K, it’ll be the 3rd Saturday of March again, on March 15, 2025. Also, our Varsity Trojan Winter Guard traveling to Gulfport, Mississippi and competed in the Gulf Coast WGI regional at Gulfport High School. The students gave an energized performance on a national level and were outstanding ambassadors of our school and community in every aspect. We visited the Gulf for pictures and to put our toes in the sand, briefly saw a drone show while driving back to the hotel, and had a pizza party while playing UNO in the lobby. It was an outstanding weekend for our Trojan Band!

Doors open at 7:00PM and the first performance starts at 7:30PM.
Band BBQ

Packets for our BBQ will be handed out this week. Thank you so much to Cheryl Moore for getting this ready for our band students. This major fundraiser is held by the Band program each year, with the money raised being used to operate the Band Boosters (provide services to students, the band, and more). As many of you know, this event is a tradition in the Carrollton area and one that many in the community look forward to each year. Please help guarantee its success by selling your allotment of tickets to your family, friends, and coworkers. In addition to the regular (20) BBQ tickets, we have included Double sandwich meal tickets (5), and (10) tickets to our BBQ-day Raffle! Ticket prices are as follows: Single BBQ – $10.00, Double BBQ – $15.00, Single Raffle Ticket – $5.00. If you need more, call the Band office, and more will be made available to you! We also ask that you fill out the included log sheet accurately so that we can properly plan for the right number of supplies – this is a very important help to us! Remember, if you are selling to a local business or group of 10 or more, the boosters will provide delivery! It’s a great selling point! Please obtain contact information to provide to the boosters and list it with any promised delivery groups at turn in.
Incentives
In addition to helping your band meet its goals and allow us to continue providing for our students, we have items that students can win by selling their BBQ. For EVERY ticket sold (single, double, or raffle ticket) and money turned in on time by April 19, the selling student will receive a ticket in the student raffle for a chance to win cool prizes. Thank you Mr. Moore for your donation of these items and many more for the BBQ Raffle!
PACKET TURN IN NIGHT
Money for all BBQ packets are due on Friday, April 19. The boosters will be available in the band lobby from 3:00 pm until 5:00pm (immediately after school). All money, checks, and any unsold tickets should be returned at that time. Please keep up with your tickets as you will be responsible for the price of any unsold tickets that are not returned.
Charms Changes Ahead – Soon to be CutTime
We received news that our database that we use to keep information for the booster club has been purchased by another company. We are in the process of migrating the information and wanted to give you a heads up before the changes take place. The new software is called CutTime and it will offer similar features that we had access to in Charms.
