New Uniform Reveal

At the annual Trojan Band BBQ, we revealed our new uniforms to the public for the first time. The purchase of the uniforms was made possible through a partnership between school administration, board of education, and booster club.

The uniform features many adaptable components to allow modernization of the Trojan Band look that will aide in our competitive pursuits while allowing us to make choices for a traditional look during appropriate performances. The shako (hat) has a modern wrap that continues the look consistently up to the plume, which can be removed to expose a traditional black shako with an embroidered Trojan Emblem.
When designing the uniforms the directors looked at the past uniforms because they wanted to bring back some of the traditional elements. These were some of the prominent features noticed when taking a look back.

The new uniform brings back the traditional white coats and retains the Greek “C” that was featured in the uniforms of the early 2000’s. The 3 stripes in the circa 2010’s uniform representing the past, current, and future are featured on the right side of the uniform. A modern drop continues the color down the right leg to highlight movement and add to the overall contrast for the performers on the field. The dual colored sleeves of the uniform allows for 4 distinct looks while on the field depending on if the band is facing North, South, East, or West. This fresh modernized competitive uniform for our Trojan Band allows us to be prepared for current competitions while honoring our tradition and legacy. We are very excited to debut these uniforms next fall!!

Upcoming Trojan Band Member and Parent (Booster) Meeting
Please put this on your calendar! May 20th will be our 2021-2022 Information Meeting which will include rising Freshman through Senior parents and students. We will spend plenty of time walking through what it means to be in the CHS Trojan Band and Band Boosters next year, provide information to help parents and students get ready, and more! We will also have the CHS Band Store open for those who want some additional merch!
Band BBQ – A massive thank you!
Team. There is not a single better way that Dawn and I can think about stepping away from the leadership at the Boosters than a wildly successful and team-driven Band BBQ. While the final numbers are still out, we exceeded last year’s numbers with BBQ sales (according to Billy Bob’s we were about on par with previous non-COVID years), with the Raffle, and with the Band Shoppe. This wouldn’t have been successful at all without the amazing Parent and Alumni volunteers (yes, we had past Band students show up!) Band Students, and Band Directors doing what they do best – serving and leading.
A few notables. Our band students delivered BBQ’s to all of the other schools in the system, and because of COVID measures at CES, actually HAND DELIVERED meals to each classroom! Other students did the same for teachers at the High School. Our directors took BBQ meals up to the courtyard and sold meals to students and others that were passing by! We delivered meals all the way to Pioneer Ford in Bremen and West Georgia Cornhole in Villa Rica due to their sizable and generous support of our band. At lunch time, we had over 5 teams out delivering meals to our community! Our AWESOME parent volunteers came in starting at 7:30am and didn’t stop the entire day until after 8:00pm. And students once more did an amazing job with parent volunteers preparing over 2000 meals throughout the day!
Another round of thank you’s to Boosters and organizations who donated products for the raffle, including an amazing grill and money for our first prize, and many other gifts and prizes!
Finally, I couldn’t say enough thank you’s to our supportive businesses who both purchased from us but also supplied us with products to make this happen. BillyBob’s started cooking BBQ on Monday and didn’t stop, round the clock, for 4 days. Our local Coca-Cola rep, a CHS alumni, worked with us to deliver more than enough product and will be buying back what we didn’t sell. The same with Jay Hansen who supplied buns, Chad Burson who supplied Cosmic brownies, and Tanner Grocery who provided chips and other needed supplies. Without this generosity, the BBQ would not be as profitable!
Once again, THANK YOU for all that you all did!
Congratulations Georgia Scholars designation!!
It is a proven fact that students of the arts are some of the brightest students on any campus. Today, we are proud to acknowledge four out of seventeen CHS students that have met the criteria to be recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as Georgia Scholars. Through this program, the State Department of Education is able to identify and honor high school seniors who have achieved excellence in school as well as in community life. To be considered for such an honor, students must: carry exemplary course loads during their four years of high school; perform excellently in all courses; successfully participate in interscholastic events at their schools and in their communities; and assume active roles in extracurricular activities sponsored by their schools.
Join us as we congratulate four of those students, as they are band members:
- Caroline Fjeran
- Peter Ivester
- Austin Schumann
- Betsy Tuggle

2021 Band Camp
Next year our school year begins on a Monday, which does sound normal, but has not been the case for the last decade. When we began school on Thursday, it allowed us to overlap our pre-planning schedule with band camp with less critical conflicts. Our original plan to work around this was to back up band camp by a week, but we realized this appeared to start camp earlier and resulted in one less week of summer vacation for our band students. We value the time our students have with their families and do not want them to have to choose between a vacation and band camp, so we have decided to try a new schedule. We know this schedule may have some challenges as well but we hope that we can work through them together to make sure band camp is successful.
We will have a 8:00AM – 9:00PM camp from July 19 – July 23 and a 1:00PM – 9:00PM camp from July 26 – July 30. Please add these to your calendars now.
Parents, please make your child drink water all summer long and get outside. We will be mindful of helping our students acclimate to the stresses of marching band, but we will need your help to ensure that they do not arrive to camp partially dehydrated and make sure they are prepared to battle the sun.
We would also like to ask any parent who is active in a local church or works for a local company to consider reaching out to leaders to help with our dinners at Band Camp. Whether a small donation or feeding our kids completely one night, anything from our great community is welcome!

Do you ever order from Amazon? If you do, you can order the same items on AmazonSmile for the same amount and a percentage of the purchase will be donated to the Carrollton Trojan Band Boosters.
The AmazonSmile program is a give-back program where the online retailer, Amazon, donates 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the Carrollton Trojan Band Boosters to support our normal operations and efforts in supporting our band. This really is a effortless way to support our band without it costing you anything extra. If you normally shop online with Amazon, you simply designate the Carrollton High School Band Boosters Club Inc. as the charitable organization that you’d like to support and that’s it… Your account will automatically be linked and then whenever you make your normal eligible purchases the band will benefit. It can’t get much easier than that to help!
To link your account, follow this link: http://smile.amazon.com/ch/58-1572206 and sign in to your Amazon account. That’s all there is to it! That’s your assurance that your purchases will benefit our program! NOTE: AmazonSmile does not work with the Amazon App for mobile devices. If you commonly shop from your smartphone or mobile device you will want to place the items you want in your shopping cart via the app but then complete your checkout in a traditional web browser on your desktop, laptop, smartphone, or mobile device in order for the AmazonSmile donation to be made.
There is no time limit on this program so we encourage you to continue to take advantage of this opportunity year-round.
