Volunteer

To volunteer your time and talents this week, please sign-up now or visit our Volunteer page. Please note, these volunteer sign-ups allows us to comply with the school’s request to better manage volunteer gate entry. You must sign-up each week in order to receive volunteer gate entry. For home games we will be issuing volunteer wristbands to those that sign-up, otherwise, you will be asked to purchase a ticket by the gate attendant to enter the game.

Volunteers who sign up to help during half time – starting this week you will need to dress in all black, (black shirts and pants please), as we will begin using our show props!

Thank you for your continued support. Let’s show up in force this week and support our Trojan football team and band!

Never Stop Improving!

logo“Never Stop Improving” is the tagline for the national home improvement chain, Lowe’s and our local Lowe’s, located at 1665 Highway 27 South, Carrollton, GA 30117, puts this phrase to action in it’s support and commitment to our community. Recently Lowe’s of Carrollton donated enough cotton waist aprons for every member of the Carrollton Trojan Marching Band for the 2014 season. The students use the aprons to keep their dot cards, notes, pens or anything else they may need while out on the field practicing their show.

The students, band staff and Band Boosters would like to send out a very big thank you to Lowe’s of Carrollton for their support of our band program and for inspiring our students to “Never Stop Improving!”LowesThankYou14

Have You Heard?

As this week gets underway we just wanted to remind everyone that this is an open week on the Trojan’s football schedule, so there is no game and no band activities scheduled on Friday (9/12/2014). So enjoy a well deserved Friday off!

Also, we have added a few new areas to our website. Under the ‘About’ area of the Navigation Bar you will find links to our photos albums and videos on YouTube. We will keep these areas updated as we receive new media from time to time. Additionally we added some information and a log in link to our new Student Management System, Charms. To find out more about this system and/or log in, please visit the ‘Charms’ area of the Navigation Bar. (see screenshot below for clarification)

Newareas

Lastly, please be on the look out for announcements regarding or upcoming annual All-In-One fundraiser, due to launch September 25th, 2014. This is a very important fundraiser for the Band Boosters and we need everyone in the trenches with us! So get ready and get fired up to sell some quality fruit and meat to support our band students and staff.

There are lots of other exciting things on the horizon as we continue to press forward… so stay tuned in and connected! If you haven’t taken advantage of all of our means of communication, please review this older post on how to stay informed: CHS Communication Options

Thanks for all you do and have a great week!

Best Regards,
CHS Band Boosters

GMEA District Honor Band and All-State

Good evening!

I just wanted to make a note about a new page that I posted.  More information can be found here: https://chstrojanband.com/practice-materials/district-honor-bandall-state-band/ which is linked on our home page under “Practice Materials.”

District Honor Band(DHB) and All-State(AS) sign-ups will be taking place tomorrow and Friday during class.  Auditions for District Honor Band cost $15 and auditions for All-State cost $20.  If a student would like to participate in both auditions then the cost is $35.  I am asking for $15 for DHB to help offset the cost of bringing in extra help during the school day to better prepare our students for the auditions.  The breakdown of that cost is $5 for the audition and $10 towards the mini lessons with experts.  There is nothing added the All-State cost.

Please take a moment to visit the page for DHB/AS and encourage your child to participate.  This is a wonderful way for our students to grow individually, which in turn will make our band better.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting tomorrow evening at 6:00PM!  Have a great evening!

-Mr. Carr
