On July 13, 2014 Carrollton lost a pillar of our community. Richard Haney has been a resident of Carrollton since 1967 and owned and operated the Haney Ford Dealership for 30 years. Although I did not have the privilege of meeting and knowing Mr. Haney I have heard great stories from my grandfather and from band parents who did know him. Mr. Haney served as president for our Trojan Band Boosters, serving alongside Mr. Don Hall during some of the best years in our history.
According to the Martin-Hightower website:
“Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Ron Stone officiating. Music will be by Rev. Jack Gantt, Rev. Alan Schantz, and Rev. Will Whittaker.
The Family will receive friends Friday, July 18, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 150 Tabernacle Drive Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be may to Tabernacle Baptist Church.”
Please take a minute today to honor the Haney Family and pray for comfort and peace during this difficult time. We are fortunate to have a long history of excellence and the Haney’s helped us to establish this through their legacy.
