The Carrollton band program recently celebrated its community’s 250th Independence Day and 200th anniversary with a successful All-Star Band parade, featuring 267 students from local schools. This tradition, revived in 2005, underscores community pride and collaboration, thanks to the support of United Community Bank and dedicated volunteers. Band camp begins July 13.

The Trojan Band had a productive week with a successful clean-up day and leadership activities focused on organization and service. McKenzie Swain shared her enriching experience at the Interlochen Clarinet Intensive Camp, highlighting personal growth and musical skills. Upcoming events include uniform fittings and preparations for the 4th of July Parade.

We mourn the tragic loss of Ava Derbecker, a joyful member of the Carrollton Middle School Band, who passed away in a car accident alongside her brother, Faris. Ava’s enthusiasm and kindness left a lasting impact on her peers. Please keep the Derbecker family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Last week, the color guard hosted a successful spin camp for new members and middle school students to learn fundamentals and bond. The percussion section began their rehearsals, focusing on fundamentals and show music. Upcoming events include uniform fittings and percussion clinics, as well as important deadlines for sign-ups and payments.
