The Carrollton High School Trojan Band, one of the oldest band programs in the state, was founded in 1948 by Mr. John Dilliard. Under the leadership of only a handful of directors since, the band's success has been legendary and continues to thrive. In 2013, the band completed its marching season by earning all Superior ratings at local contests for the 41st consecutive year, a feat matched by no other high school band program in Georgia. While the band has had the honor to perform at many state, national and even international events over its history, its favorite venue is still Grisham Stadium, performing for the home crowd on a Friday night!
Last weekend, twelve students from our band program excelled at UGA’s JanFest, participating in various honor bands and performances. The Winter Guard debuted their show, Echos of Us, finishing third at their competition. Upcoming events include a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade and a Winter Guard performance at Cass HS.
This past Saturday, a record number of students auditioned for the GMEA All-State Band, showcasing their talents and hard work. Upcoming events include the UGA JanFest Honor Band and Winter Guard’s debut performance. The community is encouraged to support students by sharing event graphics on social media to celebrate their achievements.
Welcome back from your holiday break! Let’s celebrate our District Honor Band, 2nd Round All-State Auitionees, UGA JanFest, and Mercer Honor Band participants!! Winter Guard is in full swing and they have their debut performance at Kennesaw Mountain HS on January 17. Onward and Upward, WE HUSTLE!
Concert on Monday, and Championship game on Tuesday! Then we have finals on Thursday and Friday. Busy week as we wind it down towards Christmas Break. Go Trojans!
We are headed to the State Championship! Last week our students provided Christmas Carols for CES, marched in the Carrollton Christmas Parade, and cheered on our team to another victory! Our parents helped us celebrate with a holiday party! Upcoming this week we have Winter Guard rehearsals and District Honor Band auditions. Upcoming Concert on Monday 12/15 and the Championship Game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on 12/16! Go Trojans!
