Preparing for Next Season

BBQ Sale

Thank you for your assistance in selling tickets and for spreading the word! On April 15 dring class and after school, we will have a group of parents in the lobby collecting money for sold tickets and any unsold tickets. We could use your help, please volunteer here. We would also really appreciate your help securing businesses to purchase meals for their employees. We are willing to deliver large orders to make it easier on our customers.

Soda Donations Requested

As we prepare for our annual Band BBQ, we are asking our band families and community supporters to consider donating sodas to help make this event as impactful as possible for our students. We use 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper.

These beverages frequently go on sale throughout the year. By working together and purchasing during promotional pricing, we can stretch our dollars further and reduce event expenses. Every cost we lower means more proceeds go directly to supporting our students through instrument purchases, travel opportunities, scholarships, and program needs. The event is on April 30, 2026, so there is no immediate need, but we wanted to get the word out early so we can begin keeping an eye out for sales.

Thank you for always finding ways to support the Trojan Band. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

Jazz Performance Evaluations | April 21

Our Jazz Bands travel to Cartersville High School on Tuesday, April 21 to perform for the GMEA Jazz Performance Evaluations. The concerts are free and open to the public! The first performance of the day starts at 10:00AM with Cedartown Middle School, and the final one starts at 5:25PM with the Villa Rica Jazz Cats, who performed for the GMEA In-Service Conference and the Minority Band Directors National Association conference this year. We are still working on the final itinerary because we will have to work around the route bus schedule, but our performance times are below.

Solo and Ensemble | April 25

Solo and Ensemble is held at Paulding County High School on Saturday, April 25. Our official time is 1:00PM. Students will be heard on a first-come, first-served basis. I reached out to Mr. Toft because we have prom that evening also. He said that if a student needed to perform earlier, they are welcome to arrive before our time and get in line to perform early. They will still be listened to on a first-come, first-served basis. If you do need to perform earlier, please send me an email christopher.carr@carrolltoncityshools.net and let me know what time you plan on arriving. Judges will be ready by 9:00AM to begin listening to performers. If you decide to perform around 1:00PM, I think that you’d be finished by 2:00PM. Arrive early enough to check in and warm up before you get in line to perform.
