Last week was a very busy yet productive week. We had our 1st Universal Band rehearsal after school, and the students did an outstanding job learning the music. Our bands performed at LGPE on Tuesday, and the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band traveled to Berry College to perform for the Wind Studies Invitational on Wednesday. Thursday, we had 8 students (Viviana Deatherage, Reese Roenigk, Xander Adams, Emma Engelbird, Brayan Calix, Haley Rowell, Tyler Clotfelter, and Marie Fujita-Block) travel to Athens to spend the weekend with the GMEA All-State event, which culminated in concerts on Saturday, and our Winterguard competed at Armuchee High School on Saturday as well.

This week is a little less hectic before we go warp speed again next week!

UNIVERSAL BAND REHEARSALS and TRIP MEETING

All students traveling to Universal with us were invited to the Google Classroom. If you did not receive an invitation by mistake, you can join by using this classroom code: zo75fcwr. We are performing in a studio session while at Universal, and the music has been posted to the Google Classroom. Students should begin practicing this music so that they are prepared to put it together. We will have 3 Monday rehearsals to make sure that we are ready to perform this music. We will rehearse the music on March 2, March 9, and March 16. from 3:30PM – 5:00PM. Additionally, we will have a trip meeting on Tuesday, March 10, at 7:00PM in the band room to go over final details before we depart on
Friday, March 20.

Winter Guard – Chattahooche HS

Saturday, our team performed at Armuchee High School in Rome, GA and scored a 69.95, another 4 point increase from their last performance! This Saturday, they travel to Chattahoochee High School for another performance, their last SAPA performance before SAPA Championships in Chattanooga, TN. Our home Friends and Family Show is on March 26 in the Carrollton HS Gym and would LOVE for you to be in attendance to support our team. Buy tickets for the home show here.

LGPE NEXT WEEK

Next week our band classes perform for Large Group Performance Evaluations at the Carroll County Schools Performing Arts Center. The concerts are free and open to the public. We hope that you will make plans to be in the audience to support your children.

BBQ Sale Started Last Week, Please Spread the Word!

BBQ Packets were passed out last Monday. Thank you for your assistance in selling tickets and for spreading the word! We would also really appreciate your help securing businesses to purchase meals for their employees. We are willing to deliver large orders to make it easier on our customers.

All In One Items Still Available

We have a few All In One Items that we can sell you. They were purchased in hopes of selling them during pick up. If you would like to purchase, please reach out to Lee Wimberly – pastorlee@northpointbaptist.com.

Soda Donations Requested

As we prepare for our annual Band BBQ, we are asking our band families and community supporters to consider donating sodas to help make this event as impactful as possible for our students. We use 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper.

These beverages frequently go on sale throughout the year. By working together and purchasing during promotional pricing, we can stretch our dollars further and reduce event expenses. Every cost we lower means more proceeds go directly to supporting our students through instrument purchases, travel opportunities, scholarships, and program needs. The event is on April 30, 2026, so there is no immediate need, but we wanted to get the word out early so we can begin keeping an eye out for sales.

Thank you for always finding ways to support the Trojan Band. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
