UNIVERSAL BAND REHEARSALS and TRIP MEETING

All students traveling to Universal with us were invited to the Google Classroom. If you did not receive an invitation by mistake, you can join by using this classroom code: zo75fcwr. We are performing in a studio session while at Universal, and the music has been posted to the Google Classroom. Students should begin practicing this music so that they are prepared to put it together. We will have 3 Monday rehearsals to make sure that we are ready to perform this music. We will rehearse the music on March 2, March 9, and March 16. from 3:30PM – 5:00PM. Additionally, we will have a trip meeting on Tuesday, March 10, at 7:00PM in the band room to go over final details before we depart on
Friday, March 20.

We will be joined by Dr. Joshua Boyd from Point University, Dr. Trey English from Feagin Mill Middle School, and Dr. Matt Koperniak from Fulton County Schools making comments for us that evening. We will be wearing our formal concert attire for this event. Students are welcome to watch each others concerts, but we ask that they report to Mr. Cox’s room at the appropriate time for attendance.

  • Symphonic Band Report at 7:20PM for attendance, then watch CHS CB
  • Wind Ensemble Report at 7:50PM for attendance, then watch CHS SB

Berry College Invitational

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, our Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will travel to Berry College to participate in the inaugural Berry College Wind Studies Invitational. The students will perform their LGPE selections for a world-class panel of educators, be coached by one of the clinicians, and receive feedback from the panel. Students will also watch Heritage HS perform their LGPE selections and attend masterclasses. It is an honor to have been invited, and we look forward to representing our school and community with excellence!

The school system does an outstanding job supporting all of the extracurricular trips, on Wednesday the charter buses are on the road already for our CUES Disney Trip. Because of this, we will be on buses driven by our route drivers. We will have to be a little flexible and will need to be ready to go on time, but be understanding if the buses are slightly delayed. Below is our itinerary.

The Trojan Winter Guard travels to Armuchee High School this Saturday to represent us in another SAPA regional competition. Their performance is at 5:07PM. We would love for you to be in attendance to cheer them on! You can buy tickets here.

Mercer University Honor Band

This past weekend Haley Rowell and Yael Ramirez participated in the Mercer University Honor Band. They had rehearsals on Thursday and Friday and culminated in a performace at the Grand Opera House in downtown Macon. Thank you to Jennifer Rowell for these outstanding photos!

BBQ Sale Beings This Week!

The Band BBQ is approaching quickly. Packets will be passed out to students next week. We would also really appreciate your help securing businesses to purchase meals for their employees. We are willing to deliver large orders to make it easier on our customers.

All In One Items Still Available

We have a few All In One Items that we can sell you. They were purchased in hopes of selling them during pick up. If you would like to purcahse, please reach out to Lee Wimberly.

Soda Donations Requested

As we prepare for our annual Band BBQ, we are asking our band families and community supporters to consider donating sodas to help make this event as impactful as possible for our students. We use 12-ounce cans of Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Sprite, and Dr. Pepper.

These beverages frequently go on sale throughout the year. By working together and purchasing during promotional pricing, we can stretch our dollars further and reduce event expenses. Every cost we lower means more proceeds go directly to supporting our students through instrument purchases, travel opportunities, scholarships, and program needs. The event is on April 30, 2026, so there is no immediate need, but we wanted to get the word out early so we can begin keeping an eye out for sales.

Thank you for always finding ways to support the Trojan Band. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
