Apologies – I thought this was posted on Sunday? But I just discovered that it never posted, so I am posting it now.

This past Saturday, we had a record number of students audition for the final round of the GMEA All-State Band. These students earned the honor of auditioning by qualifying in the first round in December. We have not received results from the auditions yet, but we are extremely proud of these students’ efforts. They continue to set the bar for their peers and lead our programs to new heights. This upcoming weekend, we also have a record number of students participating in the UGA JanFest Honor Band in Athens, and a record number of students for the District Honor Band the first week of February. Also starting this Saturday is our Winter Guard’s first performance of the season. They travel to Kennesaw Mountain and have their debut performance at 4:15PM.

UGA JanFest | 1/15 – 17

This week, we have students participating in the 2026 JanFest Honor Band hosted by the University of Georgia. They will travel to Athens on Thursday and finish their experience with a concert on Saturday afternoon. The participation/hotel fee is $200 per participant. We are traveling by bus to the event. The report/performance times may be unique for each of our students on Saturday, so we need parents to meet their child on Saturday after their morning rehearsal in the UGA School of Music parking lot to pick up luggage, take their child to lunch, and be present for their performance. The itinerary will be shared via email to each student participating.

Winter Guard Debut

This weekend, our Winter Guard has their first performance of the season at Kennesaw Mountain HS on Saturday at 4:15PM. You can buy tickets here. Tickets are $15 each. 5 & Under are free.

MLK Parade • January 19

Our students are out of school on 1/19 in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will help our communicate celebrate by marching in the parade that afternoon. Below is itinerary.
