We hope that everyone had a wonderful break for the holidays, and we look forward to welcoming the students back on Tuesday. Winterguard is in full swing already, and they are preparing for their debut performance at Kennesaw Mountain HS on January 17. We have many students auditioning this upcoming weekend for the Final Round of All-State, and we learned of many acceptances for the UGA JanFest and Mercer University honor bands! Our students continue to do great things. Thank you so much for continuing to encourage your children to push themselves. Putting in more effort now will continue to prepare them for bigger and better things in their future! Onward and Upward!

District Honor Band Results

We are proud to congratulate our Carrollton High School band students on their outstanding accomplishments in this year’s GMEA auditions. Through highly competitive auditions, 24 students earned membership in the 2026 GMEA District VII Honor Bands, representing both the 9–10 Concert Band and 11–12 Symphonic Band and spanning nearly every instrument family. Additionally, 15 of our students advanced to the second round of GMEA All-State auditions, placing them among the top student musicians in the state. These results reflect not only individual achievement but the strength of our program, sustained preparation, and strong vertical alignment across grade levels. We also want to recognize every student who chose to audition. The leadership required to prepare and step forward is significant. While results were determined on a single day, the true gift lies in the preparation process, growth, and discipline developed along the way. We are proud of all of our students for representing Carrollton High School with excellence.

The students listed below will audition for the state level on Saturday, January 10, at Union Grove High School in Henry County. Their audition times were emailed to them this afternoon. If you have not received your audition time, please contact Dr. Carr so that he can relay that information to you.

UGA JanFest | 1/15 – 17

The selection process for the University of Georgia JanFest was updated this year. In addition to director nomination, students were required to submit a video audition for evaluation. The following students earned selection to participate in JanFest 2026 from January 15-17, 2026, an accomplishment that reflects their preparation, musicianship, and commitment to excellence.

Congratulations to each of these students! We are proud of your hard work, leadership, and dedication to representing the Carrollton Trojan Band at the highest level.

Bands at the Grand Honor Band

Mercer University also hosts an honor band each year and we are proud to share that 2 of our students were selected for the 2026 Band at the Grand Honor Band event. These students independently sought out the opportunity, prepraed their audition, and submitted a video for consideration. Their initiative, discipline, and commitment to musical growth are outstanding examples for all of our students. The event takes place from February 26-28th and culminates with a concert at the Piedmont Grand Opera House in Macon, GA. Congratulations!!
