We hope everyone had a terrific Spring Break, made memories with family, and got some much-needed rest before our final push of the school year. It’s been a GREAT year so far, but we still have so much to do to celebrate and honor our seniors before they graduate in a little over a month!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

McKenzie Swain applied, auditioned, and was accepted into the Interlochen Clarinet Intesive, a highly selective and competitive music camp hosted in Interlochen, Michigan. She will have the opportunity to work with Emil Khudyev clarinetist with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Grammy Award Winning Mark Dover who is the clarinetist in the Imani Winds, and Jay Shankar clarinetist of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. We are excited for her to bring back what she learns to share with her teammates in the fall! Congratulations McKenzie!

Hunter Moore and Tyler Clotfelter attended the University of Alabama’s A Day and had the opportunity to participate in the Million Dollar Band for a day over the weekend!

Band BBQ • Packet Turn In on Friday

This is our final few days to presale tickets for our Annual Band BBQ. All collected money or unsold tickets must be turned in on Friday, April 18. We will be set up in the band room lobby between 3:00PM and 5:00PM. Any unsold tickets that are not returned will be charged to your band account. Each student is responsible for selling 20 BBQ Meal tickets and 10 Raffle Tickets to assist our booster club’s operation. Our booster club provides financial, volunteer, and logistical support throughout the year. Fundraisers are used to maintain the vehicles that haul our equipment and props to all performances, build props, feed students, band camp, host the Christmas Party, Band Awards Night, and other needs throughout the year. The Band BBQ is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. It takes a village and we are very thankful for your support of our booster club!

PERCUSSION AUDITIONS

March 31 – April 1 • 4:00PM – 6:00PM and April 21 • 4:00PM – 7:00PM in the Band Room. This is a clinic style auditions where students will participate on various percussion instruments to determine front ensemble and drum line placements. Percussion students also complete the “Wind” audition on April 15 to determine class placement.

WIND AUDITIONS • April 15, 2025

Wind auditions are on April 15, the Tuesday that we return from Spring Break. More information regarding the auditions can be found at https://chstrojanband.com/bandauditions/. Studnets were shared a link to sign-up for an audition time on their Google Classroom.

GUARD AUDITIONS

April 16, 18, 21, 23, 24 4:00PM – 6:00PM in the Band Room

This is a workshop style audition. No experience is necessary We welcome all students who would like to audition for the colorguard to attend these auditions. We ask band students to please invite their friends who currently do not play an instrument. Students should wear athletic clothing, have a great attitude, be ready to try new things, and be prepared to be outside.

BAND AWARDS CEREMONY • Saturday, April 19

All CHS band students are invited! Everyone is recognized during the awards ceremony and we have a party in the band room immediately following. Awards start at 6:00PM in the MAC and the party in the band room lasts until 10:00PM.
