Our Trojans were victorious again on Friday (46 – 6 over Hillgrove), leading us to the Semi-Final game this Friday. We unfortunately did not win the coin toss, so we are traveling to Buford this Friday. On Saturday we will perform on annual Carrollton Christmas parade through Adamson Square followed by our annual band Christmas party! It’s going to be another great week! Go Trojans!

Chair Placement Auditions • Tuesday, December 3

Chair placement auditions will take place after school on Tuesday, December 3. Students can sign-up for a time via Google Classroom. Visit our Audition Page for more information regarding auditions. The etude for this audition is the GMEA Lyrical Etude for their respective instrument and grade (9-10 Concert Band CB and 11-12 Symphonic Band SB).

Christmas Parade on Saturday

We will all wear our marching band uniforms and a traditional red and white Santa hat. Students need to purchase their own hat – we will use it every year.

District Honor Band Auditions • Saturday, December 14

Students who signed up to audition for District Honor Band Auditions should report East Paulding High School on December 14. Our time spot is between 2:00PM and 3:00PM. Please arrive in time to sign in and warm-up before 2:00PM. Auditions are heard on a first come, first served basis. Spend enough time in the warm-up room to make sure that your instrument is working. Do not over practice in the warm-up room. No points are earned in the warm-up room, but other students tend to want to show off how fast, high, loud that they can play in the warm-up room. This is not the time for this. Check that everything is working, make sure that you are feeling ready, then get in line to audition. If the line is long, remember that you can play a few notes before you start your audition when you get in the room. The auditions are not blind, so dress up a little bit. Wear something comfortable, but wear something that looks nice. You don’t have to be in a tuxedo or evening gown, but dress to impress. First impressions are important.

Dr. Carr will be on site in the tabulation room if you have any issues.

Our band booster club applied to sponsor a family for Christmas again this year. We are sponsoring 1 family for Christmas this year. This is a great opportunity to give back this holiday season. All volunteers are greatly appreciated but please do not feel pressured to participate. Participation is completely optional.

The family that we were assigned have a total of 5 children, (14F, 12M, 10M, 6F twins). Please list your name beside the gift that you will purchase.

Once you purchase the gift please label it with the child’s letter or number and bring it to the band room, unwrapped in time for the Christmas Party on Saturday. THANK YOU SO MUCH to the families who have already decided to assist. There are a few more items needed if you are able. You can bring the gifts in anytime this week, please label them so that we know to whom to give the gift.
