This past week was one for the books! On Tuesday we hosted an exhibition featuring Bremen, Bowdon, Cedartown, Starr’s Mill and The UGA Redcoat Band, then on Saturday we hosted 26 high school bands in addition to Kennesaw State University and the University of West Georgia. Both events were immensely successful! Thank you so much to the army of volunteers who participated in parking equipment, parking buses, working concessions, providing hospitality, transferring judges comments, inputting scores, refilling water, guiding bands, cleaning the campus, restocking the bathrooms, removing trash, hauling equipment, encouraging volunteers, sponsoring the event, providing first aid, announcing, organizing vendors, selling shout outs, Trojan grams, setting up TVs for the bus drivers, providing walkies, organizing registration, organizing pre-orders, ordering trophies, organizing the award ceremony, overseeing program creation, and brainstorming on how to do it better next year. We received many compliments throughout the day and my phone has been buzzing all day with colleagues sharing their appreciation for your hard work. Thank you SO MUCH for providing this opportunity to so many bands. We extended our capacity to assist some bands who had no where else to go and the operation appeared seamless. This week we have updated Thursday’s practice to end at 6:00PM so that families can enjoy their Halloween together. Also, we have our final competition at Newnan HS on Saturday and Friday is the region championship game at Douglas County. Onward and Upward Trojans!

Band Shop

Chrissy Robinson is working hard to bring great new merch options to our band fans. She will have the following items available on Friday nights in front of the band room for home games as well as Thursday night rehearsals between 7:30pm – 8:30pm. If you need something on Thursday, please email her at chrisnico52784@gmail.com so that she can make sure to have it out for you.
