Remembering Sgt. William Rivers

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Sgt. William Rivers paid the ultimate price while serving our country on January 28, 2024. In addition to serving our country, he was an outstanding husband, father, and a band parent. We continue to blessed by his family, specifically his son William Rivers, Jr. a percussionist in our band program. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. You can read more about his outstanding life and send flowers to the family here. Let’s shower them with our love and support as they grieve and remind them that they are not alone. We are blessed with an endearing village who support one another in time of need. If you’re available, please attend the following ceremonies to support the family and honor Sgt. William Rivers.

Martin & Hightower (1312 S Park Street • Carrollton, GA 30117) will be hosting visitation for Staff Sgt. William Rivers from 2:00pm – 7:00pm tomorrow (2/12/24) and funeral services will take place at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 13 at Tabernacle Baptist Church (150 Tabernacle Dr. • Carrollton, GA 30117). The service will be live streamed from Martin & Hightower’s Facebook Page.

Black History Month Performance

On Thursday, February 15, the Wind Ensemble will be performing Chamber Music at our Inaugural Black History Month Art Exhibit. Students will perform in the lobby of the MAC beginning at 6:30PM. Students should coordinate formal attire within their chamber ensemble. Our traditional performance attire is acceptable.

District Honor Band Weekend

These students represented us with professionalism, dignity, and talent this weekend in Ringgold, GA! They had a great time bowling with one another, visiting Krispy Kreme, hanging at meals between rehearsals, and preparing an outstanding concert to conclude the event on Saturday. It was a GREAT weekend and we are SO proud of our students!

Charms Changes Ahead – Soon to be CutTime

We received news that our database that we use to keep information for the booster club has been purchased by another company. We are in the process of migrating the information and wanted to give you a heads up before the changes take place. The new software is called CutTime and it will offer similar features that we had access to in Charms.

Senior Spotlights • Foundation Scholarships

Senior parents – We want to celebrate your amazing senior! Please fill out this form to allow us to spotlight your senior. Also, applications for the Carrollton City Schools Foundation Scholarships are available and due by February 28.

Trojan Band 5K – Please Share

Our 5K is quickly approaching and is scheduled for March 16, 2024. Band students participate as volunteers and perform for our runners throughout the course.
