District Honor Band Weekend

Our district honor band students will travel to Ringgold, GA this week for participation in the 2024 GMEA District VII Honor Band. Students earned this opportunity through a competitive audition process. They will rehearse alongside peers who also successfully auditioned to prepare a concert after only 1 and a half days of rehearsals.

Students were emailed the following information last week to be shared with their parents. Here it is in case they forgot to share it with you. The signed form is due by Tuesday.

Chocolate Still Available

We still have some chocolate bars left over from our fundraiser last semester. Boxes are $60 each. Students may see Ms. Dothard to get a box of chocolate. Students may receive $25 towards owed band fees for each box sold, or they may receive a ticket for a student raffle. We received a very generous donation on Friday of many items for our BBQ raffle, but there were also some great items that we will use as incentives for students who help us sell the left over chocolate. Items include: Apple Pencil 2, Beats Headphones, Phone Camera Magnifying Clip, Karaoke Machine, Bluetooth Speaker, and a Digital Camera. Thank you so much for your assistance in helping us to continue selling the chocolate.

Charms Changes Ahead – Soon to be CutTime

We received news that our database that we use to keep information for the booster club has been purchased by another company. We are in the process of migrating the information and wanted to give you a heads up before the changes take place. The new software is called CutTime and it will offer similar features that we had access to in Charms.

Senior Spotlights • Foundation Scholarships

Senior parents – We want to celebrate your amazing senior! Please fill out this form to allow us to spotlight your senior. Also, applications for the Carrollton City Schools Foundation Scholarships are available and due by February 28.

Winter Guard Update

Our teams had their first show of the season this past weekend at Kennesaw Mountain HS. Thank you to the parents who volunteered and assisted with their day. It takes a village and we appreciate you pouring into our team!

Their next performance is on March 2 at Harrison High School. We hope to see you in the audience!

Trojan Band 5K – Please Share

Our 5K is quickly approaching and is scheduled for March 16, 2024. Band students participate as volunteers and perform for our runners throughout the course. Please visit https://runsignup.com/race/events/ga/carrollton/trojanband5k to register today. Aren’t a runner? You can walk, or you can just sign up to support your Trojan Band and get the T-shirt.
