This week, our Wind Ensemble will be performing concerts for our littlest Trojans during 1st block. Our elementary students and teachers will ride buses to our band room and listen to some of their favorite tunes including music from Aladdin, The Incredibles, Frozen, The Lion King, Moana, and more! Students began preparing the music last Wednesday and have done an excellent job preparing for these special concerts! Since we will be performing these concerts, Wind Ensemble will begin their after-school rehearsals next week after they have received their LGPE music. Symphonic Band and Concert Band will still have their regularly scheduled after-school rehearsals this week.

2nd Round All-State

Congratulations to the following students for being outstanding ambassadors of our band program and representing our community with their talents at the 2nd Round Audition for GMEA’s All-State Band. The auditions took place on January 6, 2024 at Union Grove HS. The students earned this honor by qualifying at the first round of auditions in December. We received an email saying that the results will be posted tomorrow.

Have you not received your 8×10 yet? Mark Drury purchased an 8×10 for all of our travelers. Many students picked up their photos before the break, but some may have not picked one up for their parents? If you have not received yours yet, please see Ms. Dothard or Dr. Carr and they can assist you in picking up your photo. You can send your child to pick one up for you during the day too if that is easier for you. 

Trojan Band 5K

Our 5K is quickly approaching and is scheduled for March 16, 2024. Right now there is a discount for participants who sign up by next January 12!
