We received news today that the parade committee has postponed the parade until next Saturday, December 9 due to the high possibility of inclement weather. Although this may cause some challenges, we are so thankful that the committee was looking at the weather and made a decision early enough to allow us to make arrangements for it to work.

When we learned that the parade was moved, we decided as a booster club to move the Christmas party too. We have planned some outdoor activities for the party, which would also be affected by the weather.

District Honor Band Auditions are also next Saturday (12/9). Our audition blow is between 1:00PM and 2:00PM. We recommend arriving by 12:30 to sign-in and warm-up, then getting in line to audition as close to 1:00PM as possible. The judges are at lunch between 12:00 and 1:00. East Paulding High School is about an hour away from our school – it will be close but possible. Please be safe. If you are worried about making it on time and are auditioning for District Honor Band. You can take your uniform home on Friday and be dropped off at the parade staging area (the parking lot across the street from the Train Depot on South Street) as soon as possible after the auditions.

All-State Jazz Band Auditions • 12/2/2023

Good luck to our 3 students (Justin Arnold, Nathan Stagliano, and Connor Haley) who are auditioning this Saturday for the All-State Jazz Band.

Auditions will be done on a first come, first served basis beginning at 9:00AM at Villa Rica HS. Park in the new gym parking lot or the bus loop. Registration is in the new gym lobby. They will instruct you on where to warm up. The audition recording will be done in the band room, which is on the other side of the “new gym.” The recording takes about 8 minutes. Below is a map provided by VRHS and the script that they will use in the audition.

Our audition time block is between 1:00PM and 2:00PM. Please arrive by 12:30PM to register, then warm-up. Auditions will be conducted on a first come, first served basis. Once you have warmed up, get in line to audition and do your best. Be careful not to over do the warm-up. Just make sure that your instrument is working and that you are making your best sound, maybe run a few of your trickier scales and then go audition.

You’ve been preparing a long time for this audition, believe in yourself because YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH. You have already made us proud by signing up for the audition. All that is left is for you to go do your best.
