This was a great weekend! It started with mentoring at the elementary school on Friday morning, continued with hosting our 8th graders for the Trojan win vs. Westlake, and concluded with a GRANDCHAMPION run at the Golden River Marching Competition at Haralson County High School. Congratulations for an inspired and breathtaking performance Saturday night. The multiple emotional responses from the crowd and standing ovation at the end of your show made all of our hard work worth it this season! BRAVO TUTTI!! Then, to make things a little sweeter, the judges awarded us with superior ratings, the Paul Ramsey award for the highest overall music score, OVERALL BEST PROPS (GO BAND PARENTS!!!), 1st place in all captions (Band, Percussion, Colorguard, and Drum Major) for Open Class, and 2nd Place Gold Division Drum Major, 1st Place Gold Division Colorguard, 1st Place Gold Division Percussion, and Gold Division GRANDCHAMPION. Thank you for continuing to HUSTLE. We have another VERY IMPORTANT performance this Saturday for our home show, the Legacy of Champions.

We need you to sign-up and check with your closest band friends to make sure that they have signed up too. This endeavor requires participation from our entire village. Thank you for pitching in to make this year another success! Here is the volunteer page: LoC Volunteer Page. There is something for everyone! The most important part is to just be involved, so please take time to sign-up today!
All band students are required to work the entire day and all band parents/guardians are expected to work at least two volunteer shifts, but highly encouraged to commit to working the whole day. Students should use this link to sign up: Student LoC Sign-Up. Please direct any questions regarding student shifts to Mr. Nelson • zachary.nelson@carrolltoncityschools.net.

New York Trip
We will have a meeting with all travelers on Thursday, November 2 at 6:00pm in the Band Room. Parade participants will have rehearsals on Thursday, November 2 and Monday, November 6 from 3:45pm – 5:00pm.
District Honor Jazz
There was an update in the DHJB Roster. Since Connor auditioned on 2 instruments, there was a human error and they mistakenly added him to the alto roster instead of the baritone saxophone roster. He will serve as the principal bari sax player for this year’s 2023 GMEA District VII Honor Jazz Band!

THANK YOU!

In addition to water donations, we also have a wishlist set up on Amazon that allows parents, friends, and volunteers to easily send donations of snack items for students. The snacks are provided as side items to our meals, on the bus on our way home after a game or competition. We appreciate your help in providing these items for our students. We received many boxes from this past Prime Day sale. Thank you to all of the parents who have already sent in donations!
