Away vs. Hillgrove

Last week our students had another outstanding week! They showed their spirit for Homecoming and performed ALL day on Friday. Our day began with a pep-rally performance, continued with a parade, then two pep rallies at assisted living homes, and culminated at the football game which included our amp performance, pregame, the stands, halftime ceremony, and our full show during postgame. A special shoutout to Coach King, his staff, and the football team for assisting us by pulling the flag! This is one of our favorite traditions and we are so thankful to have a close relationship with you all! Go Trojans!

We travel this Friday to Hillgrove High School. Next Friday we have a bye week, just in time for our first competition! Although we have the full show staged, there are still many details to clean and add before traveling to Milledgeville to compete. It is time to keep up the HUSTLE!

All In One Sale Starts Tomorrow!

Students will receive All In One packets tomorrow. We know that our students are also selling chocolates currently, but we really need parental support of this fundraiser. The chocolate sell is designed for students to sell to peers, at church, etc and for them to raise individual funds to help pay off their trip or band fees; but this is our annual fundraiser that helps us to keep our band fees low. Proceeds from this fundraiser directly benefit all students in the program. Raised funds pay for the props, maintenance on the van and tractor trailer, away game and competition meals, annual awards, band prom and other band parties. Thank you so much for sharing this on social media and asking everyone you know to help support our band program. The items will be available for pick up just in time for Thanksgiving! Every year we get compliments on how good the products are, we hope that you will share this opportunity with your friends and neighbors!

Please share this video and the graphic below it to help spread the word. You can order at CHSBANDSHOP.COM.

World’s Finest Chocolate

We started the final Chocolate fundraiser to help students earn money towards band fees and or their trip NYC. Students who brought back permission slips were given boxes of chocolate. The band cannot accept chocolate back, so all students who do accept the chocolate will be required to bring $60 back in return or it will be charged to their band account. If you would like your child to receive a box of chocolate, please submit this permission slip and we will be happy to allow them to participate. Students receive $25 for each box sold towards their fees. Additionally, students will receive their name in a drawing for each box sold by September 29. We will draw names for gift cards to local restaurants, and will have 3 final drawings for the grand prizes: $50 VISA, $50 VISA, and $100 VISA. Thank you to our fundraising representative, Mike Nichols, for donating extra boxes of chocolate to cover the cost of our prizes.

Anniversary Celebration Continues

Did you miss the celebration on August 19? We will continue performing The Opener, Let It Be Me, and Spirit of the Bull during our CHAMP performances before pregame at home games. You can also view the historic slideshow compiled by Rita Gentry using the QR code above or by visiting our alumni page under the “About” menu.

Stay tuned to our YouTube page as we have begun converting our Trojan Band media to prepare it for online premieres. We hope to be able to share the nostalgia and provide a wonderful resource for the families who poured so much time and effort into our program over the years.

The snacks are provided as side items to our meals, on the bus on our way home after a game or competition. We appreciate your help in providing these items for our students.
