Pelican’s Spirit Day • Rescheduled Date

This was rescheduled because we realized how busy everyone would be with Open Houses. Pelican’s is donating a portion of the profits earned this Thursday from 2:00pm – 5:00pm to our Trojan Band! Please be sure to let them know that you are there to support the Trojan Band Spirit Day. Thank you so much to Pelican’s for supporting our students! Let’s spread the word and bring them some business on Thursday! Will you copy this picture and post in on Facebook? Please.
New Parent • Sponsorship Meeting Thursday, 8/17 • 6PM
We will have an orientation meeting in the band rom beginning at 6:00PM. Although we are calling it a new parent meeting, all members are welcome! Our parent leadership will welcome everyone and share ways to become more involved. The meeting will involve a tour of the facilities and discussion of our weekly operations.
Also, we will discuss how our sponsorship program works. Our booster club has lists of potential sponsors and we need your assistance in securing these partnerships. Sponsors can receive advertisements on our Facebook page, in our LoC Program, Signs during the LoC, at the 5K, and Golf Tournament, as well as logos in the concert programs. Students will receive 10% of the sponsorship funds towards their band account and can be used for band/guard fees or the NYC Trip. All interested parents should attend this meeting!
We will finish the meeting by watching the end of the Thursday rehearsal and practice pulling the Flag for Battle Hymn. Thank you so much for working together to support our children! We look forward to seeing you on Thursday.
Parent Volunteers
Our booster club has began using Slack (a free messaging software) to help facilitate and organize direct messaging between people. It allows conversations to be organized by task/committee rather than person. This allows us to stay in the know better. Join Our Slack Channel by clicking Here.
If you are volunteering for a football game, you must be signed up to volunteer no later than Thursday evening before the game so that we can provide a list of volunteers to the gate workers. This allows us to assist our school in making our games more secure, which directly benefits our families safety. Thank you for assisting us with this very important procedure. You can easily fine the link to volunteer either in the Week at a glance at. thetop, or in the upcoming events at the bottom.
In order to maximize our student’s break time during 3rd Quarter Break, we have the students pre-order their items on Thursday’s before home games. We. are in need of a few volunteers to assist with these orders. VOLUNTEER HERE
Candlelight Ceremony Rescheduled
We have rescheduled the practice on August 17 to 5:30pm – 8:30pm so that we can have the candlelight ceremony afterwards from 8:45pm – 9:00pm. This was voted on by our seniors and student leadership.
75th Anniversary Celebration!

We are excited to begin our celebration of 75 years this Friday for our home opener vs. Langston Hughes!
This is a big game so you’ll want to be early. The reconnect reception will take place in the courtyard, which conveniently overlooks the stadium and our school’s amphitheater. Light refreshments will be available for those celebrating with us and it will start just in time to enjoy the pre-game pep-rally performed by your Trojan Band.
Buy a ticket to the game to cheer on our Trojans as they open the season on ESPN and to see our half-time performance of some of our historic favorites: The Opener, Let It Be Me, Spirit of the Bull, and Battle Hymn!
Also, stay tuned to our YouTube page as we have begun converting our Trojan Band media to prepare it for online premieres. We hope to be able to share the nostalgia and provide a wonderful resource for the families who poured so much time and effort into our program over the years.
Alumni, we also welcome you to join us for Homecoming on September 15, 2023! You’re welcome to perform Space and Fight Song with us during pre-game, some of your favorite Cheers (Cheer 1, 2, Land of 1000 Dances, etc. ) in. the stands, and Battle Hymn after the game. You can find music linked here.
Band Shoppe Survey
The Holtzclaw’s are doing a great job running the Band Shoppe and have put together a survey to allow you to provide feedback on items that you would like to see us carry. Please be on the look out for a Show Shirt pre-order as well as some 75th Anniversary Merchandise. Please fill out the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L7PSTC9
