Band Camp Very Successful!

Friday night marked the close of our 2 weeks of band camp and we celebrated with a performance at Family Night! Although lightning decided to send up inside, we were still able to march and play the portion of the competitive show that we learned during camp. We reconvened in the Mabry Arts Center to continue our performance with a preview of The Opener, Let It Be Me, and Spirit of the Bull before hyping the crowd with our stand favorites!

Thank you so much to the volunteers who made last week possible. Parents fed us and aided students who needed help in the heat. We were joined by an All-Star cast of extra staff to coach sectionals with our students. Thank you to Rachel Breaux, Chris Mothersole, Katie Hoberg, Zavier Breedlove, Lainey Driver, Rachel Worley, Jon Buchholz, Brycen Hart, Luke Bass, Brandon Cunningham, Tyler Boyle, Sophia Padilla, and Brooke Brady for spending band camp with us! Our student received the best education because of your extraordinary efforts. We are very thankful for your time and expertise.

Also, special thank yous to Trinity Baptist Church for the spaghetti dinner, Midway Church for the popsicles, and Crossroads Church for assisting with Trojan Night on Friday.

Leadership at DCI

A group of our leadership team traveled to GSU’s Center Parc Stadium on Saturday to watch the drum corps competition. The students represented our community exceptionally well and we all left inspired by the outstanding performances that we witnessed. We look forward to the watch party for DCI Finals in the band room on August 12.


Band Shoppe Survey

The Holtzclaw’s are doing a great job running the Band Shoppe and have put together a survey to allow you to provide feedback on items that you would like to see us carry. Health Class • Last Day

All due dates for the health class has passed. Tomorrow, July 31, is the last day to submit any missing work.


Water Donations

We ask that each family either donate 2 cases of bottled water or make a $10 donation towards the purchase of bottled water. Thank you so much to the families who have already sent in their donations.


World’s Finest Chocolate

We still have boxes of chocolate that is available to our members to sell for credit towards their New York Trip. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Please check in with Dr. Carr, Mr. Nelson, or Ms. Dothard if you’d like a box to sell. Anyone requesting a box is expected to bring back $60 as we cannot accept back any unsold chocolate.


Trojan Business Day: Tuesday, August 1

Please make non-resident payments, catch up on outstanding fees online, view schedules in the Infinite Campus app, and make schedule changes from home. There is no need to visit the campus this year for Trojan Business Day unless you need in person support. We will welcome everyone to campus to visit teachers, and find classrooms during Open House on Thursday, August 10th. Open House is also where you can purchase your yearbook sale, parking passes, pay senior dues, prom dues, and learn about our new transportation app for buses.

Trojan Business Day In-person Support (CHS Cafeteria): 

  • Juniors and Seniors: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Sophomores and Freshmen/Newly Enrolled Students: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In addition to water donations, we also have a wishlist set up on Amazon that allows parents, friends, and volunteers to easily send donations of snack items for students. The snacks are provided as side items to our meals, on the bus on our way home after a game or competition. We appreciate your help in providing these items for our students. We received many boxes from this past Prime Day sale. Thank you to all of the parents who have already sent in donations!
