Week 1 down, Week 2 here we go!

AWESOME first week of camp! Thank you so much to the many volunteers who helped make this week so successful. Parents sized for uniforms, feed the students breakfast and lunch, wiped tables, and encouraged the students and staff all week! Thank you so much! Additionally, we had great assistance from our school nutrition staff in the preparation of meals – we are so blessed by our school system. Thank you for providing the absolute best for our families!

The students were spoiled a little bit each day – Pelican’s, an ice cream sundae bar, and a pool party all organized by our booster club. Popsicles provided by Mr Drury and Super Holiday Tours, and Chick-fil-A sponsored by Pilgrims Carrollton. Thank you so much for investing in our children!

The students continue to raise their bar for excellence each day. They worked diligently all week and had a fun water balloon war to cool of before lunch today. We have learned the music for the 75th Anniversary Celebration, Pre-game, and began working on our competition show “The Rise of Troy.” We look forward to continuing the HUSTLE next week #GoTrojans#HUSTLE.

2023 Band Camp • Week 2

This is an extra special week because we will be joined by specialists to assist with instrument specific sectionals to assist our students in learning and memorizing our music a little faster this week as we finalize preparations for our first performance, Trojan Family Night on July 28.

The section leaders have designated the following spirit days for band camp. We encourage our students to participate in the spirit days to increase relationship building and create memories together during this important week of our season.

MEALS

Our booster club feeds our students again during the 2nd week of band camp, with some assistance from our nutrition program. We are blessed by the outstanding support of our parents and school system! Again, students may bring their own meals if they prefer not to eat what is provided, but students are not allowed to exit campus for meals.

Ways that you can help

We ask that each family either donates 2 cases of water or makes a $10 donation so that we can buy water. We use bottled water for our students when we feed them dinners throughout the season and to travel with us to competitions and away games. Band camp is a great week to bring your water. We store the water in the castle (house behind the band room), but you can drop them off in the lobby. Thursday evenings during the season, before our 6:00pm – 9:00pm is also a great time to drop off water. Thank you very much for your assistance in keeping our students hydrated.

We would like to supplement our lunches during week 1 and week 2 of band camp with the following items. If you are willing to donate any of the following items, they can be dropped off any morning of band camp. We will be sure to share them with the students: Here is a sign-up genius link to volunteer to donate any of these items.

  • Prepackaged cookies
  • Bags of Chips
  • Paper plates for 200
  • Paper Bowls for 200
