Happy Independence Day!

Last week was the final week of our percussion camps this summer. They met every Thursday in preparation of the upcoming year! Thank you to Mr. Nelson, Mr. Cunningham, Mr. Boyle, and Ms. Eddleman for coaching our students.

Congratulations to Hunter Moore on attending the UWG Low Brass camp this past week! Thank you Hunter for seeking more opportunities to grow! We are excited for you to bring back your new knowledge to share with your peers!

Saturday we had a great turn out of volunteers to help us organize and clean our band facilities in preparation of our season! Volunteers, swept, mopped, organized, inventoried, washed the vehicles, and were a huge blessing to our program! Thank you so much for donating your time and energy to help our season be successful!

Health Class • Final Month

At this point students should be more than halfway finished their health class. Please check with your son/daughter to see how much of the health class they have completed. Many students have completed the entire course already!!! If your child hasn’t that is ok, there is still time, but please encourage them to get to work.


More 4th of July Parade Info


UNIFORM FITTINGS

Marching Band photos will take place on Monday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 20 due to Mr. Carmichael’s availability and needing the program before the first game. We will have uniform fittings on the following days to get everyone sized in time for photos. We tried to offer at least 1 morning and 1 afternoon spot for everyone. Each session is first come, first served. Thank you for doing your best to make one of these dates work for you. Arriving earlier in the time slot would be better and help us help you quicker.

  • July 10: Returning Members Fitting 3:30-6:00pm
  • July 11: Returning Members Fitting 8:30-10:30a
  • July 12: New member fitting 10:30am-1:00pm
  • July 13: New member fitting 4:00pm-6:30PM

Water Donations

We are collecting water donations for the marching season. The first time we need water is on July 3 when we are hosting all of the bands in the county. We ask that each family either donate 2 cases of bottled water or make a $10 donation towards the purchase of bottled water.

A huge thank you to Yancey Equipment Rental for their generous donation of a pallet of water to get us started!


World’s Finest Chocolate

We received 65 more boxes of chocolate that is available to our members to sell for credit towards their New York Trip. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Please check in with Dr. Carr, Mr. Nelson, or Ms. Dothard if you’d like a box to sell. Anyone requesting a box is expected to bring back $60 as we cannot accept back any unsold chocolate.


Senior Family Photos

Mr. Carmichael will be available on July 16 and 23 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm in the Student Activity Center for senior football program photos. Seniors wear their uniform and family should wear school colors in support of their senior. Forms to order photos will be provided the day of the photos.

If you are already subscribed to the Remind, then you are good to go! If you haven’t please send the appropriate code to 81010 to subscribe. This is used to communicate just in time information such as updated ETA’s or last minute cancellations if needed.

Room available for Trip

There are a few spots still available for the NY Trip. If your registration is pending, please begin making payments to be added to the trip. We especially need color guard students to add on to the trip if at all possible. Visit this website for more information about the trip.


THANK YOU!

In addition to water donations, we also have a wishlist set up on Amazon that allows parents, friends, and volunteers to easily send donations of snack items for students. The snacks are provided as side items to our meals, on the bus on our way home after a game or competition. We appreciate your help in providing these items for our students.
