Thank you to Mr. Jindrich and the Temple High School Band for their invitation to allow us to perform at the Carroll County School Performing Arts Center.  The venue is beautiful and it allowed us the opportunity to have a dry run of our music in the atmosphere that we will perform in for evaluation in a couple of weeks.

All 3 bands performed well last Thursday evening and received great feedback from our adjudicators.  Comments were shared in class and via Google Classroom so that we can continue to prepare for Large Group Performance Evaluations (Festival).

District Honor Band Week

District Honor Band • February 14 – 16

Please congratulate our students who have been invited to participate in the GMEA District VII Honor Band.  They earned this opportunity by auditioning in December.  Congratulations to: Maggie Rowland, Savannah Richie, Asha Brown, Katie Hoberg, Andrew Stagliano, Austin Schumann, Dale Drummond, Josh Hansen, Jordan Mullenix, Brianna Colquitt, Ben Bradley, Lainey Driver, Taylor Berry, Eli Nunez, and Kelley Ozier.

Students will travel with Mr. Carr, Mr. Bright, and Ms. Menendez to Ringgold and stay at the Spring Hill Suites in Ringgold, GA.  Hotel cost is $70.00 and includes breakfast each morning.  Students will also need money for lunch and dinner each night.  Download an itinerary here. So that we can send the bus home early and not require our bus driver to remain through the concerts we ask our parents to meet the students after their final rehearsal on Saturday.

Just as clarification: the Junior High Students are rehearsing at Ringgold HS and our students are rehearsing at the Heritage High School. (This is opposite from the past couple of years).  The concerts will still take place at Ringgold HS.

Welcome Home Concert

Our Trojans performed extraordinarily on Thursday at Troy University as part of the Annual Southeastern United States Honor Band Clinic.  They were joined by Dr. Robert Ambrose, director of bands at Georgia State University, Casey Cooper, Coop3rDrumm3r a YouTube artist who is the world’s most subscribed to drummer, and Carrollton’s own Katahj Copley, composition student at the University of West Georgia.

Because the Send-Off Concert was cancelled due to inclement weather, we have scheduled a Welcome Home Concert so that we can share our music with our community.  Dr. Ambrose, Casey, and Katahj will all be in attendance again as well.

The concert begins at 8:00PM in the Mabry Arts Center.
