Congratulations to all of our students who auditioned for District Honor Band today. These students are leading our band program to new heights because of their dedication and determination to achieve their personal best. I am so proud of the students for setting the goal, sacrificing the time to practice, preparing the material, and persevering through the anxiety and nerves that happen during the audition process. Regardless of the outcome, you have been a role model to others in our band program by displaying personal courage in working towards achieving your goals! BRAVO! You make me very proud to be a Trojan!
There were over 1100 students who auditioned today. I am very proud to announce that we had a record number of students invited this year! I am so proud of the individual process that our students continue to display and look forward to continue the music making with all of our amazing students.

Our concert, “Celebrate the Season” is TONIGHT at 7:00 pm in the Mabry Arts Center.
This is a free concert.
Students should be dressed in concert attire and in our room by 6:00 pm. They should enter the chorus room door.
For those guests attending, here is some information about parking.
Due to the construction, our parking lot beside the MAC is not available. You may park across the street in the SMI lot. There is a crosswalk on the corner and a fenced in sidewalk that will take you to the front doors of the MAC.
You may also park in the gym/field house area or across the street in the tennis court parking lot,or you’re welcome to park in the visitor’s parking to our stadium.
We will have the gate open that is between the gym and the field house. (This is the same gate used for football games.) You can enter there, walk underneath the home stands and then exit out the other football gate on the right. That will put you at the front doors of the MAC.
We are asking students in the concert to avoid parking in the SMI lot so those spaces will be available for guests not as familiar with the school.
Thank you as we work out the logistics while we are under construction.

The 5/4 Ensemble, a member of the Carrollton High School Chamber Music Society, performed on December 3, 2015 for attendees of the Annual Georgia School Board Association Conference held at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Cobb County, GA. The students were invited by the Georgia Music Educators Association to perform for 30 minutes as a participant of the conference to showcase music education in our state. The ensemble which consists of Daniel Kuntz on clarinet, Chase Hornsby on alto saxophone, Aquay Backus on alto saxophone, Katahj Copley on tenor saxophone, and Khalil Newell on tuba performed arrangements created by the students. Many school board members stopped to listen, photograph, and video snippets of the performance to share when they return home.
This was followed a very successful Christmas Parade through downtown Carrollton! So proud of our students!!!
