Graduation Procedures and Leadership Team Announced

This coming Friday is graduation! It is hard to believe that this year is already coming to a close.  It has been a very productive year full of great memories and I am sad to see it close, but excited for the future!

Just a quick reminder that performing for graduation is part of our duties of participating in band and serves as our final exam.  All students should stage their instruments upstairs in the band room Wednesday after class.  We will not have access to the band room on Thursday or Friday until after graduation.  Report time is 6:00PM and we will be wearing our concert attire in an effort to blend in with the black graduation gowns, which will allow the attention to be on our seniors that evening and not the band.  I am excited however that our band will be seated closer and serve as part of the ceremony, which will add to the pageantry of the ceremony for our seniors and our community.  Pizza will be served at 6:00PM for our performers.  Graduation starts at 8:00PM and should be finished around 9:30PM.

Choosing leadership is always one of the most difficult tasks each year.  I am very proud to say that our band is blessed with many capable leaders.  I hope that all who attended our leadership clinics and expressed an interest in serving as a student leader will continue to provide positive influence to their peers as we continue on our path of excellence.

The following students have been charged with the responsibility to serve as our leadership team.  I am certain that they will serve our team well and will propel us further onward and upward.

2015 CHS Trojan Band Leadership Team

The Beginning of a Legacy…

LOC_2clr-b-01It is with great excitement that the Carrollton Trojan Band Boosters and Carrollton High School Band Program officially announce our marching band competition, Legacy of Champions! Our inaugural debut, of this annual competition, will take place this fall on Saturday, October 10th, 2015 on the gorgeous 130 acre campus of the Carrollton City School system, in historic Grisham Stadium. Months of preparation have already taken place just to get us to this point as we strive to lay the foundation for a successful event that we hope will become the gold standard of marching band competitions within the state of Georgia. We are anticipating a wonderful event filled with great performances and we sincerely hope that everyone in the Trojan Nation will join us in our efforts to showcase our wonderful band, school, and community. Our next Competition Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th at 6:00pm – 7:30pm in the band room. We would like to invite anyone interested in volunteering for the event to join us at this meeting as we move into our next phase of planning. For more details about the competition and to find out how you can help through volunteering or sponsorships, please visit the competition’s website at:  -mpost

Reminder – Forms and Commitment Fee Due

Just a quick note to remind everyone that the forms for next year are due by next Monday (May 18, 2015) and the commitment fee of $75.00 is due by the last day of school (May 22, 2015).  All of these can be turned into Ms. Dothard in the high school band room.  Junior High students can turn the forms into Mr. Huls or Ms. Menendez and Mr. Carr will pick them up, but we still ask that the money be sent to the high school for Ms. Dothard to process or paid online. This initial commitment fee will allow us to go ahead and begin the process of arranging music and ensure that the drill is written for the correct number of students so that we can begin drill during pre-band camp.

Band & Color Guard fees are paid directly to Carrollton High School and can be paid in person at the high school via cash, money order or credit/debit card. Please note that Carrollton High School no longer accepts personal checks. For your convenience CHS also offers a secure online payment option, which is directly accessible by clicking this link:

You can access the band handbook in the forms section of our website. More information about fees can also be found on our Fees/Dues page.

Opportunity for Rising Seniors in the band (class of 2016)

senior_class_of_2016While we are filled with many emotions over the graduation of the class of 2015, which is just weeks away, we have to keep looking forward in anticipation for our new season as well. With that said, preparations are already beginning for the 2015 football/marching band seasons, part of which includes the 2015 edition of the CHS Trojan Football Program.

Band members of the rising senior class, the class of 2016, have expressed interest in taking out a commemorative color ad in this coming year’s football program, which would feature a personalized group photo of all class of 2016 band members who would like to participate by paying a portion of the cost of the ad. The more who participate, the lower the cost would be for everyone involved. This is a very unique and special way to for this group to kick of their quickly approaching senior year so the purpose of this post is to help spread the word to our rising seniors in the band.

If you are a rising senior in the band and are interested in participating in this project, please let Mr. Carr know as soon as possible so he can share more details about timing, costs etc. Mr. Carr can be reached at the band room, in person, by phone: 770-834-0550 or by email at:
