Attention Band Boosters: BBQ Sandwiches For Sale!
We had a great turn in on Thursday night but I wanted to challenge everyone to continue selling. We want to surpass last years sales and the only way to do that is sell, sell, sell. If you have not turned in your packet, please do so to Ms. Dothard this week. We are making final counts so we can get everything ordered and ready. Walk-up sales are available but we like to have a rough count prior to pick-up.
Also do not forget to volunteer for the BBQ pick-up day, May 1st. No experience necessary and the pay is double from last year. If you want to have a lot of laughs and help a lot of kids, then come out to join us. We will need help from around 8 that morning until around 7 that evening. Any times will be fine if you cannot stay the entire day.
We look forward to seeing everyone out on May 1st to help serve some BBQ.
Dear Band Parents,
It’s time to start preparing for the Carrollton High School Band BBQ as we look forward to another successful year for the fundraiser. The BBQ will be held on Thursday, May 1st at Grisham Stadium as the Visitors side concessions area between the hours of 11:00am and 6:45pm.
This major fundraiser is one of two held by the Band program each year and the money raised helps offset the personal costs for each band student. As many of you know this event is a tradition in the Carrollton area ad one that all in the community look forward to. Please help guarantee the fundraisers success by selling your allotment of 30 tickets to your family, friends, and co-workers. In addition to the regular meal ticket we have a two sandwich meal ticket for the heartier appetite. You are being provided a smaller booklet containing 5 of these tickets. Though we would love for you to sell all 35 tickets, you are only being asked to sell a combination of each ticket totaling 30. If you need more, or if you were not able to attend the kick-off meeting to receive your allotment of ticekts, please call the Band office.
In addition to a wonderful meal, each ticket sold will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a Hewlett-Packard product. The drawing will be held after the CHS Band takes the field to play at 6:00pm. Attendance is not required to win!
Turn-In Night for this year’s event will be on Thursday, April 17th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the Don Hall Band Room. All money, checks, and unsold tickets need to be brought back at this time. Also remember to bring back all the tickets stubs from sold tickets so they can be entered into the drawing. You can’t win if you’re not in!
Also remember that we will still need your help on the day of the event! Please make plans to join us and help on Thursday, May 1st, BBQ Day. Help is needed anytime from 6:30am for setup until final clean-up around 8:00pm. There is a place and time for you. For planning purposes you will have an opportunity to sign up for a time period at the Turn-In Night. It IS work, but the fellowship is a lot of fun too!
One last note. If you choose not to sell your allotment of tickets, we respectfully ask that you make a monetary donation towards the program’s continued success. This ensures that each family “carries its weight” in making each child’s band experience the very best.
Please be making contacts for the BBQ sale. We have already spoken to many parents who have already made sales. We will be sending out reminder emails next week about the upcoming meeting. Remember March 20th, 7 PM, Don Hall Band Room.
Carrollton Band BBQ is just around the corner. The Band Boosters will hold a kick off meeting on March 20th. This will be the evening that everyone receives their packets to sell for the fundraiser. This is one of two fundraisers that we participate in each year. The community is always ready for this event so this is an easy sell. What better way to enjoy an evening than eating BBQ and watching the band perform for the final time this year. We look forward to seeing everyone out on March 20th.
To add to the suspense of the meeting, we are also unveiling the trip for next season. We are still working on getting the logistics done, but should have some great information to carry home to get everyone excited about next season. We would also like to invite the eighth grade parents as well. We hope to have a great crowd to unveil the headlines “Carrollton Band is headed to …….”. Gotta attend to find out the rest.
